Instead of Tour that doesnt suit him, and Olympics road race that suits him even less he could go for Vuelta (just maybe even challenge Alberto if this break has left an effect on him which i doubt) and then WCRR.

Tour that doesn't suit him? Are you one of those people that confuse Samu with rodriguez. of all the years one does not want to crash for the tour its the one where contador is doing the vuelta.

the tour course suited him very well. long attacks, downhils (although he has become les sin it, surly better than wiggins and schlecks and he's very good in itt unlike what many seem to understand

He would have lost 3 - 4 mins on Wiggins in TTs, and thats a lot of time to make up on few selective stages there are.

It's a shame if Sanchez broke something, this Tour route was ideal for him, or at least very good. He could finaly got that podium he dreamt of, it he misses the tour i will miss seeing him beeing cheered forward by the Basque fans.

I predict (or predicted, depends on the status of his ribs) :20 in the prologue, 1:40 in the mid Tour TT and 1:20 or so in the last TT lost to Wiggins.

Pointless discussion, but still no reason to try and cite an outlier as the best piece of evidence available. He has needed to do his best in lots of time trials, and very few have been that good.
