Mardi 4 juin: Ambérieu-en-Bugey (01) - Tarare (69), 164 km.

Mercredi 5 juin: Villars-les-Dombes (01) - Parc des Oiseaux (01), contre-la-montre individuel de 32,5 km.

Jeudi 6 juin: Grésy-sur-Aix (73) - Valmorel (73), 139 km.
- Une côte de 3e catégorie (côte de Trévignin, 608 m, 4,4 km à 6,6%);
- Un col de 4e catégorie (col du Frêne, 950 m, 1,9 km à 6%);
- Une côte de 4e catégorie (côte de la Croix, 487 m, 2,3 km à 4,1%);
- Une montée hors-catégorie (montée de Valmorel, 1386 m, 12,7 km à 7%).

Vendredi 7 juin: La Léchère (73) - Grenoble (38), 141,5 km.

Samedi 8 juin: Le Pont-de-Claix (38) - Superdévoluy (05), 184 km.
- Une montée hors-catégorie (montée de l'Alpe d'Huez, 1760 m, 12 km à 8,6%);
- Un col de 2e catégorie (col de Sarenne, 1966 m, 3,1 km à 6,8%);
- Deux cols de 1ere catégorie (col d'Ornon, 1380 m, 10,5 km à 6,1%; col du Noyer, 1664 m, 11,3 km à 7,2%);
- Une montée de 3e catégorie (montée de Superdévoluy, 1503 m, 4 km à 5,7%).

Dimanche 9 juin: Sisteron (04) - Risoul (05), 152 km.
- Une côte de 3e catégorie (côte de la Bréole, 942 m, 5,4 km à 5%);
- Un col de 1ere catégorie (col de Vars, 2100 m, 10,4 km à 6,9%);
- Une montée de 1ere catégorie (montée de Risoul, 1863 m, 12,8 km à 6,9%).

Kilométrage total: 1117 km.

So this year's preview of the Tour will be Alpe d'Huez + col de Sarenne (at the start of the stage..)

Nice route apart from the stage lengths (and backloading), best from Amaury in a long time.

I think Sarenne at the start is better (compared to GC last year), at least this way they aren't even pretending to use it for racing purposes, just a test for July.

Stage 6 is kind of interesting but probably too much flat at the end. Ok not very interesting, looks like a Saturday P-N stage. Still though it's never really flat after the categorised climbs and at least the descent is at the finish.

Very much like 7 too, lots of incentive to move on Noyer which gets quite steep at the top.

Vars/Risoul is a handy combo, maybe we get it with Bonette too in the Tour soon.

Not bad ASO, not bad at all.

I don't look forward to the preview of everyone softpedalling Alpe d'Huez though. Once in July would've been enough for that.

Bit of a surprise, the ASO apparently still knows how design a fine route. It has been a while since they did that for the last time. Only point of criticism is the length of the stages, 1 or 2 should have been 200+ imo. But this looks like the best route in years.

One thing I don't get is they make the ITT shorter at the same time as providing a lot more opportunities out on the road. Last year had 60km of TT with 1 or 2 road stages to create gaps. This year we have 32km and 5 road stages.

I think the intention is to have the ITT stage the same length as the ITT stage in TDF

Funny, given that it's too short a distance in both races.

I do not really like the 30km tt, I still think it is too long for two mtf but it doesn't matter because Froome will win with or without tt. It will be interesting though to see how much time Alberto loses, I'd say if he loses more than 30s he'll be in big trouble in the tdf. He can lose 30s max in the 3 tts to even stand a chance.

No

In 3 weeks there are plenty of opportunities to take back 3-4 minutes. But in 1 week, 1'30"-2'00" is too much. IMO of course.

In 30 km a bad tter can lose 2 minutes to a good tter. I think
