Is that the Tour team, + Wiggins? Only really Kennaugh or Stannard who would be at threat I presume.

It certainly looks like a Tour Team. I really hope for Froome's sake Wiggins doesn't take the start, but realistically there is no chance Wiggins doesn't show up and look to defend his title. I hope Froome is up for the mental challenge.

Given he's not riding Suisse either, I'd say there's a reasonable chance they contrive a story to allow Brad to do the sensible thing and ride Vuelta instead.

Very likely, last year they sent basically the Dauphine team to the Tour bar Cav and Eisel I think who went to Suisse. Kennaugh they rate highly and is a talent, I had originally never really considered him for the Tour as I thought he was doing the Giro, don't know what changed with his schedule or if I got something wrong but I fancy him for the Tour, unless they decide to recycle a domestique from their Giro squad.

I'm not sure if Cav and Bernie did Tour de Suisse last year but yeah they basically just used the whole Dauphine team bar Danny Pate and put those two in.

He is a reserve on both lists, so it is way too early to say he won't start in one of the two events. Even Route du Sud could be possible.

no way he is riding the vuelta, seen the course?

Kennaugh didn't make the Giro team, so I think it's extremely unlikely that he'll be at the Tour (in fact a UK cycling jouno says he'll be riding the Vuelta). The Dauphine is very lumpy on nearly every stage, unlike the Tour, so it makes sense that Kennaugh is selected instead of Eisel.

Interesting that Caruso is racing for Cannondale in this. Is he still planning on riding the Tour as well?

Unzué says he will be in the Tour to learn and to support Valverde in the mountains, and that he isnt worried about his unusual Tour preparations.

I really hope that is isnt going to be a domestique, and that he will get a free role (if he is able to perform as I hope he is). Personally I am worried that no a race break since LBL isnt optimal, but its going to be very exciting to see what he can do.

Caught the Lincoln Grand Prix, Kennaugh loooks like he has great potential & already an Olympic Gold medallist xD

His climbing in particular was very very easy on the eye. Engine on the flat however, well doesn't look like the best person to draft behind ;) , probably best to pick Eisel/Stannard for flat drafting/TTT work in the Tour. Dauphine/Vuelta looks like it would be good for him, Sky have plenty of mountain goats for the Tour already and its not particularly mountainous even. In hindsight Sky would have been better blooding Kennaugh in the Giro over Wiggo

Thanks for the news.
Thats very unusual to stay this long in high altitude and without racing,I hope its a good preparation but we shall see.
As for Unzue...Quintana has to ride Tour for GC if he can(has the legs). He cant waste years like this(being a domestique for TOP5 guy)!!!
