Smart move by Garmin.
Tinkoff's team is very weak here.

Talansky could win this race overall.

edit: ag2r with Bardet up there as well.

Holy smokes how did that breakaway manage to get away!!! I think it would be hilarious if they slip up and don't bring them back and Talansky wins the CD.

2 and a half minutes now, and hard to see Saxo being able to close or hold the gap up the next climb if this lot are pushing on.

Long hard day for Ryder coming up!

I think Sky would be very happy with that result.
Why? If this breakaway makes it with a significant gap, they won't even have a rider on the podium.

Unless, of course, it's more important for them that Contador doesn't win than to get a result themselves...

Saxo is screwed unless some team magically comes help them.

I don't get though what sky is doing. I mean with that move they're not winning anything. Unless Froome goes full *** on the second last climb, then it would make sense. But can he drop Contador? If he can't he's also screwing himself.

Contador had this in his bag and now Saxo is letting it away. I don't understand this and never will be. And a breakaway like that. Wow.

These threads in the last week have been full of people talking about Contador mind games and how he won't attack because it's more powerful to just shadow blah blah blah.

A demonstration today of a crap Saxo team unable to defend a jersey would be quite funny.

3:20.

Gonna be well over 4 mins at the top of the climb, so as long as Ryder can get 1 or 2 others to ride with him in the break on the flat, this ship might have sailed.
