Yes, seems like a huge waste of energy.

They all waste a lot of energy, so it doesn't really matter. I think it's just perfect if you wasting a lot of energy, but winning a big race. That gives you confidence. Although he didn't won, i bet Contador will be more relax now than Froome.

I hate to say this but Sky really fuc**** ****ed me off today. They figured they couldn't win the DL and... their best tactic was to make sure the other top guy in the other top team does not win?

REALLY?

REALLY?

REALLY?

Contador beat an "injured" Froome, could be he gave him a good pasting, could be the crash took alot out of Froome, only Froome really knows I guess. Hard to draw any conclusions from this.

lol.... so injured that he spent a significant part of the day trying to drop Contador.

So this Dauphine has been the best race I can remember in a long time ... great racing every single stage !

This. I love the Dauphine with a passion. I would rather have three Dauphines spread out during the season instead of one Tour. :p

Actually this is completely normal for Froome. What isn't normal is seeing that clown anywhere in the Top 10 for GC.

That was good for a lol

Contador can follow Froome on a Peyresourde redux and can also attack long range.

Maintain or improve in the TT a bit and it's looking good for AC in July.

We have all crashed on a bike, it can take alot out of you, who knows what it did to Froome, things would be alot clearer if he had been beaten badly without injury, as it is it intoduces enough doubt to make it hard to draw conclusions about the tour.

Maybe your rite but it's still a great day that fake Froome sucked ***

riders make the race.. this course could've been very boring if they waited for the final climb and they all went tempo riding. Then it would suddenly be a sucky course.

Once again proven, it's the riders, not always the design...

But it's possible for riders other than the best rider because it isn't a Zoncolan stage where it's purely strength that wins you races. It could've been boring, but it always could've been exciting too, whereas there is only one scenario for a Zoncolan stage.

He tried to drop Contador and failed. Stop making excuses.

Super stage,so Froome cracked ,his teammates were stronger than him,Nibali tryed but cracked too,ok not like Froome,Contador was very brave but cracked a bit in the final and give Talansky the win.Looks like Nieve can do a Froome at TDF,if i was Froome i'll be very scared by this guy:D

LOL omg its ok dude its ok froome can't win all the time... relaxx....:D

Froome and Contador basically stuff each other up.
Clearly, his crash impacted the race, more than first thought.
Bertie is ridiculously strong, though. Had he launched when they started to muck about.....
Bluff and counter bluff, backfires, Talansky, VDB and young Yates benefit.

Another great stage.
Overall, a super Dauphine.

A pity that this place sucks so much, when it comes to objectivity.

Froome's crash didn't take that much out of him, it was seeing his TdF chances going down the drain when he was informed of Alberto's climbing times in Tenerife (which, presumably, is what prompted him to tweet his now infamous "I haven't seen a WADA rep in two weeks!"). And Contador's ability to respond to each and everyone of his attacks on stage 2 confirmed to him that he was shark chump.

That list has to include brian1225. It just has to, without a doubt.

I don't like Chris Froome, I am jusy analysing the facts dispassionately, if Froome hadn't crashed then getting crushed by Alberto would be highly significant, as it is he crashed and we don't know how much of an impact that had.
