Good ride from Tejay today, if he can go this well in the mountains he ought to make the podium.

Van Garderen blew up a bit in the end, but a good ride none the less. Apparently he never did a TT more than 40 kms before today.

And podium for EBH, great stuff!

Brajkovic doesn't come out of nothing. You know nothing of cycling if you claim that.

It's not so much his past history of results as the fact that all his time as a pro has been on Johan Bruyneel teams.

Seventh for Geraint Thomas! What a ride. Much better than I was expecting. Here's hoping he can hold on to a top 10 GC spot on the Alpe.

i was expecting top 20.. but 7th is cracking.. a matter of trying to hold onto that green jersey now.. who would have thunk it.. If he can hold onto that be by far the biggest result of his road career

i would worry about contador's form only if he slides back tomorrow on a mountain-top finish...even then, he said all along he did not come here to win but to test his new tt bike.

So......Brajkovic nearly catches Thomas who came 7th and everyone was losing time after the 3rd check point except him putting time over all the others...WoW... he's good...surprise i've never heard of him

Now that Contador is out of yellow I would expect him to sit up, but you never know. My predictions about him have been pretty hit-and-miss so far this Dauphine.

Looks like Horner soft pedaled a bit too, coming in 3:41 down. They will have to use him to the fullest for Brajkovic to win this.

Shack Attack

Between today and his stage 1 attack, it sure appears Jani wants to WIN this race - put his name onto the Honor Roll of Greats who have won here.

Will we hear talk from RadioShack of not wanting to defend the Yellow?
I hope not:(

He was being beaten on climbs before his surgery and after his surgery. He's in better condition but still isn't trying to win this race.

Soler was my tip tomorrow but he must be injured finishing 23 minutes behind. He'll probably get eliminated.

Tomorrow's stage should be interesting. Horner or Brajkovic for the win maybe. But considering there is only one climb tomorrow, a break might succeed.

Looking at the new GC and the fact that Contador isn't going to bust a gut, I can't see a scenario whereby the mountains become a battleground.
Brajkovic is simply a better climber than the rest.

I think we are going to have a rather dull race, when recent past editions have been rippers.

Chancers to chance. A red train to pull. Etc etc.

Thomas is doing very well, yet to finish out of the top 10 so well done to him and back in green.

Van Garderen looks a big talent also but I have no comment on the Radioshack rider because i dont know how he will go from here on. Will Armstrong allow him to beat him in the Tour TT i doubt it even though he looks good enough to do it on one leg.

If you like. This is his first full season on the road, and he has always gone well in ITT's. He just turned 24, it seems like pretty natural progression to me.
