Contador adding more places to the illustrious most top 10s without winning competition.

Gonna get 5 this DL

And to think he is far ahead of most stage race wins of the current active riders. If there was a list with most top 10s he'd been nr.1 ages ahead of others.
Valverde would be in front for most top 10 due to this sprinting ability.

I'm not sure should Aru have regrets for missing the Giro with this kind of shape and will.

Well it depends on whether he can beat off Fuglsang for the leader role, considering the monster shape he has..

Aslong as they wont force Aru to wait for Birdsong in week 3 he should have no problem finishing ahead of him.

That's ridiculous. I would just appreciate Astana giving him a chance for leadership when it was promised to him. Of course, if Aru proves to be better then there is no discussion, but with the current showing I can not see any reason to hand Aru leadership. It's not like Aru has proven to be a super stabil rider in the big GT's.

Seems Froome alwasys drops whenver everyone attacks. The problem is no one can sustain the higher pace after the attack. That's how Froome always comes back. You gotta love power meter. Ride at your own power, eventually you'll catch up and still have something in the tank to blow those who attacks you. Unless, someone figures out how to hold Froome from resurging with his steady reelin, he is the man to beat in July even if Porte shows a great form.

The problem is Aru is a proven GT winner, Fuglsang isn't not. Sure he shows some great form, but there's no telling that whether he'll be fading in the 3rd week. Aru, has been up there in the podium of GT and even wins it. I think it's natural if Astana is happy to see how Aru performs today and the discussion of who's being a leader is back on the table. In my opinion, they should let the road decides. Let them ride as co-leader. It works well so far at Dauphine, with Aru attacking like a little rabbit on fire and Fulgsang marks Porte.

Yeah it could be great, if they can get it to work. Many examples of dual leadership slowing down one of the two. My suggestion would be making a choice possibly after La Planche de Belles Filles, if there is a clear distinction between the two.

Porte has never podiumed either but he looks pretty good at the moment. Aru has had an injury so he might be the one to fade later in the race without the best preparation.

Re: Re:

Aru also has a pretty solid track record of consistency in GTs, with last years TDF the lone exception, and competes for wins if the cards fall right.

I've always been curious where the"Aru is overhyped" meme came from. He is a very good rider, and fun to watch.

Wow, Fuglsang is actually looking really good. Maybe he can have a great Tour.

He will start off great baring crashes and then he will fade in week 3 like birdsong always does.
Great ride at the dauphine though!

Just not correct. Was consistent in 2013 tdf, the only time as leader, the two following years the inconsistency and inability to get an overall result was because of crashes and illness, not length.

Still it is one week race which suits just for Porte or Fuglslang, riders which in 3 week race always have problems with consistency, and Porte is also bad in nervous stages where echelons can be formed, I do not believe he have chance on Tour, there are others better then him or Fuglslang

This, i have always been a huge fan since he netted me 4000€ during the 2013 (bet on a top 10 gc for him)

He has really stepped up this year, and he deserves a shot at leadership

And no one can know when the bad luck strikes. I hope this year, Porte's luck is shinning for him. It will be good to see how he can fare with Froome. So far at Dauphine, he is in excellent form. Not sure if he is way close to his peak. On the other hand Contador doesn't look so bad. Tomorrow will tell, if today's just one of those exception, or he is in the rising as far as building his form. Froome as always is Froome. He'll be up there as the man to beat comes July. The battle of sky domestique is interesting too. Kwiat, Kennaugh or a sure thing Landa?
