Porte was vulnerable here.It won't happen in TDF where everybody will defend their GC places and take only calculated risk. The gap is still manageable if Porte doesn't blow up on the last climb.
WIth the work Porte is putting in on the flat part, I highly doubt he will be able to maintain the gap on the last climb.

He might crack hard but it might happen to the others too.It would be hilarious if Porte will come back and drop them on the climb

But if contador didn't attack with aru/valverde how was he ahead of froome/porte?

Aru and Valverde went clear at the foot of the climb, before we had live pictures. Everyone else went clear some km later when Porte and Froome were playing footsie.

Contador the favourite for the stage now? Froome will drive it all the way up the climb, all he has to do is sit on. Valverde and Aru should get caught.
Contador won't be able to hang onto Froome's wheel. Fuglsang is my pick if it's not Froome.
Froome might burn out with all the work he's been doing

He has amazing powers of recovery

He jumped away from Froome and Porte while everyone else was already upfront, Froome was still forcing Porte to chase at this point so that's why he was ahead of Froome for a short while.
