I know plenty of people, myself included, who can maintain weight without riding a bike for 2 weeks.
It's clear Remco has to specifically work on his climbing weight: his 'natural' weight is probably 3-4kgs higher than his optimal climbing weight. He just hasn't got the body structure of a lean climber. He can climb, for sure, but he has to work hard to climb well. 2 weeks without a bike isn't doing any good for achieving that climbing weight. Naturally with racing and good training, he can shed 1-2 kg by the 1st of july, but he'll have to keep an eye on it.

He's also coming back from non-racing recovery. His TT was spot on but climbing at 9% under pressure is hard to prepare for when others are setting pace. He'll improve but enough with the weight stuff. He could barely get out of the saddle.

Landa wanst super at the end..but I dont know how much afected to be stopped and lose his GC options and to win the stage.

If this is his level he has to help Remco, but to acelerate and stop take its toll.
Yeah, it is sad to see such a great rider like Landa having to do this. He could podium this race and now having to sacrifice himself instead, for what? Sad day for Landa and cycling fans :(

Not bad at all for Remco. He is riding into a better form. He will probably lose 3 pounds for the Tour. TT is still even getting stronger. He has much more experience now timing his efforts. I believe he is right on schedule for the Tour. Roglic on the other hand at full strength barely could pass his team leader Vlasov. If Roglic would have led the way for Vlasov, the Russian would have taken more time. Free Vlasov!
