When Evenepoel was even dropped by the second chasersgroup, Landa was allowed to counter. Which he did. But he quickly had to get back on the saddle and was caught up. At the end Evenepoel was the better of the two. Of course, Landa had worked before leading the group of favorites and/or chasers. But Vlasov did the same work for Bohra or even more during his attack with De Plus and later in pacing Roglic and dropping the opponents.
Yes, I agree, but you have to consider that avcelerates and stop suddenly is a factor, physically, but as well, mentally. anyeay Landa wanst super, but I am not sure what would have happened is he is allowed to finish that counterattack...I will watched the stage anyway other time.

He's being honest, he knows he's not there yet and has more work to do, and he's not blaming his injuries. So, good interview I thought.
Remco fell off April 4th and needs to be on an upward trending curve by the 29th, 3 weeks!. He is climbing in the front, able to stay in the front. He put down a good ITT, and his behavior on and off the bike has him on message, of scientific rehab return.
He obviously either didn't drink any, or enough of the Kool aid when Patrick Lefevere squawking about " we are here to win!!".
Remco had a lot to lose both physically and mentally in this race, he could have crashed physically and mentally if he got dropped way out on some of these longer climbs. Or got beat by a lesser rider in the TT. I have no reason not to believe him if he feels the race is positive. Team wise they look decent..

Yeah but Evenepoel started it.

If he can say he's going to ride domestique for Landa or Van Wilder, then Rogla can say he's not interested in GC.

May the best liar win.
To be more clear, Roglic is always full of sh*t. I don't mean this in some sort of horrible way, but isn't he the guy who is so often saying "oh my legs feel bad" right before smoking people and stuff? Even G-man has commented on it (last year's Giro).

Considering Remco seems to want to be like Roglic, perhaps he is channeling that BS? Then again, after Landa and Van Wilder stank it up big time, and RE can TT circle around them even when he's not great, that left them with little choice! :D

I watched it again.

Vlasov... he was amazing , but I think he will blow up tomorrow.

Landa did a great job, but I think he payed a little to have to stop, he wanst super anyway and he had his mind a little on tomorrow.

Froome lost lot of time, but he is not so bad at that seem to be. He was helping the team ahead of the bucnh at 3 km to first climb, some people was dropping....then he was at the middle of the bunch at 1 km to the line...I dont know if he lost positions that final Km or something happened in the descent, but he was at the end of the bunch at the end of the descent, in the split....at one moment he was the last one of that group sprinting after a corner (after a bridge if you watched again the stage)...but one the group rejoin, he go up again and he is one of the five riders of the team who are helping Derek to have a good position, later he drped before Tao (when we saw Tao almost stopped on the road an small group with Froome passed him) and later he finished in that group at 13 minutes...I dont know if saving energy or suffering to be there. I hope the first becouse I would like he try the break tomorrow. Not easy if it the second option...

Congratulations to Primož Roglič for winning the stage in prime style.

Bora wonderful today, especially Vlasov doing a tremendous job from tactical and practical point of view. Rogla playful although a bit worrying he rides with an injured shoulder and doesn't have full mobility. Hopefully that heals completely before the Tour. A lot of riders today affected by crashes. Will be interesting to see on what Bora decides to do in remaining two stages.

There are so many athletes use that style of evasive communication about their form and fitness that it’s surprising you find it noteworthy. Because they are representatives of their teams and sponsors they don’t have much choice in whether to respond to pre-race interviews (although some find ways to bail out). So each rider develops a style of responding. It’s not like the old standby “there are some good sensations” have one more information about a riders status.

I am surprised you find it surprising.

But the old "the legs have good sensations" was funny. And I don't expect someone to say "hey, I am going to attack here". Just that Rogo is known for it, amongst even other riders :p

Broadway folk are ready for Remco also. But no rush, he's the only one who truly knows how his body/bones feel.

I thought Remco looked pretty good, tbh. He measured his losses and had a bit left at the end to hold the gap. Now the question is how much can he improve his climbing form in the next three weeks?

Not sure he can hold on to a podium today and tomorrow -- Saisies 1600 is a tough, tough climb and it's already quite warm and humid (I'm nearby but probably won't watch in person due to access issues).

Roglic otoh looks great but as always the question in the Dauphine is overcooked vs on target vs undercooked.

So congrats to Primoz. This time he stayed on his bike...and won! Vlasov also strong, BORA has two best climbers in the race. Looking good for the Tour. As for Remco...he was dropped like a stone. Still not ready for climbs against top competition, a discussion about his weight must've started yesterday, I suppose.

This. Remco just needs to steady the ship and fight on, whilst focusing on getting the greatest efforts in his legs without exausting himself. The GC here is secondary. He did a fine job yesterday. He could have totally blown, but settled down into suffering and limited his losses. He must continue to do this today and tomorrow and focus thereafter on trimimg down without power loss over the next weeks.

Roglic, if he hasn't gotten the cooking temp wrong now, will head into the Tour just where he needs to be. He looks razor sharp, but is his form a little bit too advanced at this late stage in the longer game? Time will tell.

Then Remco loses another +10 seconds without Landa. He truly sacrificed himself and limited the damage for Remco, if only he would have been able to ride his own race. He was chasing after Vlasov and then had to turn back! :(
He had not to turn back. But he couldn't keep up his effort and was overtaken again. The team confirmed Landa was allowed to ride for himself. Another thing. Vlasov, a good climber but not a topclimber, did a lot more work than Landa and ended third.

Why no coverage from the start? Atleast the last 2 weekened stages... always the same with Dauphiné

What about Kuss ? He was destroyed. But I don't read comments about the Vueltawinner 23. The same Kuss considered by many as the leader of the Vismateam in the case Vingegaard is not starting the Tour. Well ? If Evenepoel was dropped like a stone, the better climber Kuss was dropped like a huge boulder.

Once again we can read here that when it comes to Evenepoel, many lack any form of objectivity and nuance.

I don't treat Kuss like a legit TdF contender (I mean potential winner). Plus, he's known to be out of form in many races only to peak for GTs.

Specifically Van Wilder, and in a less extend Landa, performed very poorly to poorly in the time trial. Then it is logical that Evenepoel, who also wore the yellow jersey, was protected again. Once Evenepoel felt he couldn't hold the pace, Landa was allowed to ride for himself. That was confirmed by the team and Landa after the stage.

Of course not a potential winner. But in the absence of Vingegaard, the leader of the team. It was often written here that during the Vuelta 23 Evenepoel was relegated with more than 16 minutes by Kuss. Then comment must also be made about Kuss.
I'm sure Kuss will peak for the Tour. Just the same as Evenepoel. Why different comments ? Given the level, I would prefer to be Evenepoel's team leader today.
