I want to be unpleasant. But paradoxically, Roglic's two back-to-back victories( and overall racing in this dauphine) mean that only a miracle will be able to beat Pogacar

Honestly, Landa should be co-captain with Evenepoel and have no domestique duties. Evenepoel just can't be trusted for a Tour GC and will most probably be dropped like a stone in the high mountains again.
Considering the Tour route, you'll see quick enough anyway. By stage 4, we'll know if Remco has it or not. You can go in with Remco going for GC and if it falls apart there, switch to Landa going for mountains and Remco going for stages

I don't think Roglic has any way of beating Pogacar without it being Pogacar who drops or bonks. But I also think Roglic has a claim to outsprinting Pogacar
Roglic can't outsprint Pogacar unless they are racing in +10% slopes

It's the Dauphiné. He's winning.

Did beating Adam Yates in a sprint in Burgos have anything to do with climbing the Angliru a month later? No.

I mean I'm all for realism (Pog is obviously the favorite for the Tour) but the kneejerk reaction some people have whereby a lack of fireworks & dominance in the Dauphiné is extrapolated as huge inferiority in the Tour is a bit too much.

Rog's fine. He has a minute lead in GC going into the last stage. No one has dropped him & he's working really well with his teammates.

It's all gravy IMO.

2. Jorgensen
3. Gee
8. Lazkano

That's crazy!

They most be over-performing. Maybe too soon! I see all 3 riders to go down in the Tour.

That is possible

But thye are also very good athletes and deserve their places and a rider doesn tknow what he is capable of till he does it

I think Jorgensen is only going to get better
Gee is such a top athlete as is Lazkano so for them consistency may be an issue in a GT

Yeah, Landa who got outclimbed by Gee, Lazkano, Romo and my grandma, should totally be able to ride for him self at the TDF. He might actually outclimb Gaudu!

Roglic interviews are cringe worthy

A mixture of cycling platitudes and useless phrases plus false modesty

Just tell it like it is Rog
His fans love it though , oooooo primoz you are so ice cool and mysterious, ooooo primoz you have a wonderful stoicism mindset and don't even care about winning.

He used to be very dry and awkward with the medias, since like 2020 he started taking a different approach and trying to do comedy in interviews but after a couple of years it started to fall flat. Now he seems like he doesn't even enjoy his job and never talks about his approach to races

Landa crashed a day later than remco in April and had worse injuries, he broke some ribs and a lot of time off the bike. And yet now he is much stronger than remco

I don't actually think Landa should be considered leader for Le tour, as he seems more motivated by his current role where the pressure is of, and will probably hit a better level because of it.

But please consider some context around the performances riders who you jump at the opportunity to criticise, when taking every possible opportunity to jump to the defense of young Belges.

In most teams Landa would be the leader on merit

Forsure they deserve it! They doing levels over my expecting for them in this race.

Gee and Lazkano can't ride GC in the Tour. I can't see that, but I can see them win stages from breakaways.

Jorgensen is the hard to predict. Maybe his ceilings are even higher, maybe not.. I don't know. His weight and size most be a problem at some point in a grand tour.

Sepp Kuss 16 minutes down.

It's one thing having bad legs or doing a slow build-up to the Tour... but this is another thing entirely. You don't even get 'training' in the legs doing that sort of gruppetto ride.

There's something very off this season & he's getting worse.
