Mathieu's last chance to wear the Yellow came and went. He looked a little disappointed donning the Sprinter's jersey.
Didn't see him get green, he certainly worked very hard, did disproportionate share up front. Did see Milan roll through line late in yellow, big relaxed smile on his face!! Today's move by Mathieu was bold and beautiful!!
Shame he couldn't get the win..well deserved by Romeo who did everything right.

Coming back to Lipowitz‘s tactics today: It did look really stupid of him, keeping the group together and attacking and I don‘t think it was tactically motivated in a logical way, but what Lipowitz basically did was try to not be in Group 2 on the day. He should have probably chased less then, but working in Group 2 is the nightmare scenario because it would probably also lead to little help from everyone but Van der Poel. Guillaume Martin usually avoids this by being in Group 3 and Ben O‘Connor by the way of Group 1, but there was too little opportunity to get away for good with a group.

The thing Lipowitz really needs to stop is the attacking, then flicking his elbow, then keeping up the pace. That lands you in Remco situations with gesturing.

Lipowitz is much more effective than Romeo, I want both riders to succeed but Lipowitz has more depth.. Romeo has great opportunity in TT ..
The right question would be "Dangerous for who?" Even with the kind of softish finsihes for alpine standards on two oft the last three stages Lipowitz would be a immediate candidate for the Tour podium if he could hold one minute against Jonas and Pogi. Ain't gonna happen but one minute is a nice headstart for him (and Romeo) on the other GC guys behind the big three. Your Mas, Poole, Jorgensen, Rodriguez, Martinez guys who probably could go a big better on the last three stages but combined with this minute and maybe another time gain in the TT someone like Lipo could save the 4th place. Which would be a big success. If you regard startlist quality for sure a bigger one then finishing 2nd in Paris-Nice or 4th in Itzulia.

A very interesting Dauphine so far. The profiles have not been easy so far, but depending on the course and the sprinters, there could have been three bunch sprints. Then a Vingegaard attacks in a way that you wouldn't expect from him on the first stage. Today, riders like Dunbar and especially Lipowitz are in a breakaway group the whole day. Not at all to be expected with Lipowitz, he is here as captain, this should be his season highlight. I'm curious to see how much energy he has used up, how things will go in the time trial (many riders want to save energy the day before) and afterwards in the mountains. At least it won't be a tour where everything goes as expected.
