I get that, but it's not the Tour, we need action now!I don't mind bunch sprint stages, if they didn't exist we'd eliminate sprinters entirely from the sport.
Who knows, maybe. The climb is 1.2 km long and almost 10%. Maybe Pogacar and Vingegaard will decide to have some fun and distance the rest.
Yeah, but the reason there are sprinters stages in the 1 week preparation races is, that the sprinters are part of the Tour team too and they need preparation with the teammates they are riding the tour with (and for).I get that, but it's not the Tour, we need action now!
No, Remco stomps this. Pog at 15 and ----Vingo, more or less, the same. You heard it first.1. Pog

Yawner of a stage, but every day there's a bike race on the telly I can actually watch live and Thomas Voeckler is commenting from the motorbike and not those guys talking in English about food (Romandy: Gruyère, Giro: tomato and olive oil) is a good day.
Because we just like watching grass grow.Yawner of a stage, but every day there's a bike race on the telly is a good day.
...and so many other things...A time machine would allow me to know what happens week 3 of the Tour - now - instead of extrapolating![]()
I don't think you understand: What I find weird is that the sponsor apparently has the final say in which of the teams big stars are being sent to the Tour.Because the sprint stages are too easy and the hilly stages are too hard in the first week. Correct call IMO. Mads needs stages in between to win against these boys
Fair point, but I think he could be a favourite in Stages 4, 7, 15, and 21. Milan does have more opportunities overall, though (to my count, six, with the potential addition of the Toulouse stage).Because the sprint stages are too easy and the hilly stages are too hard in the first week. That's not what's shocking. You see, money talks. That's fine. It's the same as UAE bosses demanding Pogacar to ride the UAE Tour.I don't think you understand: What I find weird is that the sponsor apparently has the final say in which of the teams big stars are being sent to the Tour.
I agree it's the correct call, I just don't think a sponsor should make it.
I think the varying perspectives on theenjoyment of stages like this is due, in part, by where we live. I’m watching from 6:00am or so till 7;30 (whenever it finished) while having my several cups of morning coffee. Lovely way to start the day. So for some of us there’s no “what a waste of time I could have been riding or fixed the gutters.” There’s nothing I miss by watching; the only thing I miss is when there isn’t cycling to watch.Because we just like watching grass grow.
And both got a yellow card for that ... Hagenes was supposed to let Politt squeeze him to the side of the road?View: https://x.com/Eurosport_NL/status/1932088305924936178
That much on how they are not taking this race seriously and just want to have some fun.

Both got a yellow card for this. What exactly does Hagenes do wrong?View: https://x.com/Eurosport_NL/status/1932088305924936178
