Congrats to Romeo for winning the stage and to Lipowitz for gaining time.

There you have it, aliens basically got the same problem, as humans, eventually some youngster will beat them. It was fun while it lasted.

Healy is working very hard to lose as much time as possible. One can only hope he is planning to be in the break on a later stage.

Lipo is clearly the best GC talent for Bora at the moment. They should give him the #n1 dossard for the tour. Hopefully they will rest rest Primoz for the Vuelta so he can battle it out with Pidcock.

8.5 according to PCS. And it's midstage so it'll only require two bike changes.

I think the only question remains is if they'll change helmets on both occasions too.
I was somewhat sarcastically talking about the Tour MTT. Which I think is a lot less clear cut than it may seem.

They can't, as Rogla DNF at the last edition of the Tour. He won Dauphiné 2024, though, so indeed they could give #n1 dossard to Maxim at this edition.

P.S. At least you are now claiming they should send Rogla to win his fifth Vuelta, and not spreading that nonsense about stage hunting at the Tour anymore.

If ...if...they send Roglic to the tour then I stick by my assessment they shouldn't expect a top GC result ...hence stage hunt there.

the "n" in front of the 1 is to indicate we don't yet know what numbers Bora will be assigned. But whatever numbers they do get, Lipo's should end with a 1.

Why does Roglic DNFing last year's Tour prevent Bora from giving Lipo the #n1 dossard?
You know the #n1 dossard doesn't refer to the #1, right?

the "n" in front of the 1 is to indicate we don't yet know what numbers Bora will be assigned. But whatever numbers they do get, Lipo's should end with a 1.

They wear 1 at Dauphiné.

No ifs involved whatsoever, you can read more about it here.

It's explained towards the end of the article, on what the aim with Rogla and Lipo will be at the Tour 2025. So no need to spread nonsense around anymore.

EF completely changed, yesterday all pink at the back playing around, had English speaking and Spanish speaking commentators chuckling, speculating that Healy and team were just spinning, saving their legs.
Today a few efforts of EF, entire squad going on the front, brought speed up slightly according to peloton and breakaway, difference was 1-2 kilometers faster by peloton, but looked to be momentary, nothing really long in duration.
To me it made no sense just to break wind and not stomp on the gas and try to make contact with break. Healy or anyone on EF wasn't let down, just the pulls were half hearted looking, everyone was not going hard enough to burn out. Recently pulls for Carapaz, Yates, Del Toro had teammates absolutely bury themselves to get the gap down.. I get it, EF doesn't have a Wout equivalent but it's like EF is trying for entire team to finish instead of win. I watched the race alone on 2_screens and I was yelling at the TV about their tactics.. Just lack of motivation.. Maybe they have someone, something else in mind but it was dismal!!
Super disappointed after high hopes after Ben Healy having some great races.

Mathieu's last chance to wear the Yellow came and went. He looked a little disappointed donning the Sprinter's jersey.
You don't think he can beat guys like Romeo and Lipowitz by 15-30 seconds in the TT? Or is the climb too big for him to defend enough of his gap to Pogacar, etc.?

The right question would be "Dangerous for who?" Even with the kind of softish finsihes for alpine standards on two oft the last three stages Lipowitz would be a immediate candidate for the Tour podium if he could hold one minute against Jonas and Pogi. Ain't gonna happen but one minute is a nice headstart for him (and Romeo) on the other GC guys behind the big three. Your Mas, Poole, Jorgensen, Rodriguez, Martinez guys who probably could go a big better on the last three stages but combined with this minute and maybe another time gain in the TT someone like Lipo could save the 4th place. Which would be a big success. If you regard startlist quality for sure a bigger one then finishing 2nd in Paris-Nice or 4th in Itzulia.
You are correct, for what is better question.. I was making assumption in comparison between Lipowitz and Romeo. Lipowitz has some decent results.
. I wasn't really thinking about were Lipowitz factors out compared to your list of riders.

VDPs not finishing within a minute of Remco is the problem

To me it has a lot to do with modern route design.

I'd venture a guess that if the Tour made an Indurain style route, Evenepoel would be the top candidate for the win.
It has to do with modern route design, but don´t underestimate the routes of the Indurain era. They had some crazy mountain stages. The routes from the early 80´s, on the other hand...

You're lucky.
I spent the last 10 minutes explaining who is Romeo and who is Romo.
Yet, I've been asked if they're brothers.

i spent half the stage thinking he was Romo. then he attacked and i thought "oh he did this at TDU too...wait a second it's ROMEO. HE did this in Valencia."

The team explained in an article, on why they gave it to Maxim. I can try to search that article up if you are interested.

And they won't at the Tour.
There'll still be someone on the team wearing the #n1 dossard.

Maxim wears number 1, so lets first clear that one up, on why. As for the Tour, obvisuly Rogla DNF last year, there was hence a rather slim chance for that. Still, lets not forget, not only at Dauphiné 2025, the team wearing 1 at both Giro and Vuelta, rather dope if you ask me. Especially considering on how some are acting, like everything is doom and gloom and in reality they are wearing 1 for the half the season. Geez.

In light of that let me suggest and lets give the leadership to Omi & Opi.
