Could well be "déjà vu all over again". :D

Edit - though if you want to get really depressed, Saturday's stage is the same as stage 11 of the TdF. The Sky train pulling the peloton until the last km's will be welcome news to insomniacs for July but the rest of us ...

How nice that Sky as the only team chose to be going only for this race compared to the Tour de Suisse...

I'm still hoping that the train gets derailed. There is enough climbing that it could happen. If the top guys want to have a go, Froome isn't there to shut them down.

A decent break will have a chance, if they have 2 minutes at the bottom of the last climb...... provided they can climb a bit.

I could see a lot of the classics types stretch their legs, at the start of the stage tomorrow, and Sky giving up controlling them for the stage win, to preserve strength for the GC battle on the last climb.

Was just checking tomorrow's time schedule. Best case scenario when coverage starts, is that they will already have crested Col du Pré, worst is that they will be close to the top of Roselend. Good job again.

I have a feeling this year TDF will be different. I hope at least. People have learned (hopefully) from spring and also from Giro that attacking from far out can bring the fruit.

I do hope that sky super train will be attacked by all teams simultaneously and for far out.

I am only scared that Porte will be again their 9th man. :lol: Lat see if he learned the lesson last year.

Have they learned this lesson at the tdf against a full strength Sky though?

Thinking back to Cadel and TVG trying that during the first proper sky-borg-death-grip-train in 2012. They barely got out of sight. And that's the thing - people either can't attack because the tempo is so high they're on the limit just following, or they find some super power and lay it all on the line......only to be brought back within a kay with barely a sweat raised by Sky train.

I don't think you can defeat it. Just ride for a podium or top five and hope the epoch ends somehow.

+ 5 satellite riders from the GC teams (notably not Sky) (though they tend not to go in for that type of shenanigans :D )

Oops, one of the "French Pro Conti" riders rides for FDJ. :redface:
