I love to cook. Recently I've made:
- Rye gnocchi in a chanterelle and rosemary butter, topped with parmesan
- Paav Bhajia using a recipe lifted from a vendor in Chowpatty Beach, Mumbai
- Vegetarian Pho (yes, you can make a vegetarian Pho stock)
- Lemon, olive, prawn penne. A semi-vegetarian version of the Tuscan chicken recipe.
- Aloo Ghobi. One of my favourites.
I once spent a few years learning how to properly cook meat and then promptly met my wife who is a vegetarian... Honestly, I only miss it a couple of times per year. Hard to make a vegetarian ragu... (ragu is a meat sauce - Bolognese is pancetta, veal, pork and beef with white wine, a mirepoix, a tablespoon or two of tomato paste, and cooked down for several hours by adding whole cream a bit at a time). Le sigh...
