It's pot. Who ****ing cares? It should be legal anyway.

Right about the tip-off, very suspicious

I feel for him. He's been fighting depression for years and had a breakdown.

It is therapeutic for many.

In California this would be completely normal.

Well, it's not performance enhancing.

Slightly OT... there's one reason that the Jamaican sprinters aren't too keen on the WADA code.

I knew I liked that guy. Nothing wrong with growing a little weed, nature's strongest natural fibre, the oil has tons of applications, plus it makes music sound really good ;)

The spin in this news piece is ridiculous. As if growing (or smoking or selling or whatever) pot at 50 had anything to do with doping in competitive sports.

This is the clinic though, right?

Why should something that increases the risk of psychosis that is not currently legal be made legal?

You'll have to provide me with a link to an independent study that proves that risk. And I will provide you with the link that proves it's medicinal value. :)

Regardless of your views on Cannabis regulation, it is ironic that someone so vocal about the breaking of sporting laws, doesn't appear so concerned about criminal laws. The peloton is full of riders who don't believe certain rules and regulations need to apply to them, this is no different.

It's ironic that there was a tip-off.

You say that until it's your kids who are buying this sh-t outside their school , or some smackhead crashes into you whilst off their face .

Given Webster going on about everyone else is a drug taker it's a bit rich that he's got the cannabis factories at home , I suppose he'll say it was for personal use . Yeah right ....how many persons would that be then ?

Are you mental? Or do you write for the Sun newspaper? He's gone from growing some weed to selling it to kids to mowing down riders in his car whilst on heroin.

Don't inflict your reactionary, right-wing morality on me, I have no interest in it. The legality of hemp is borderline in many countries around the world, and where it isn't, it should be. If properly exploited as a cash crop it could be hugely beneficial to the world, bringing money to impoverished countries. It was made illegal to protect paper-making from wood and that illegality prevents us doing so much good with the plant. The seed is a super-food, you can make resin, rope, wax, cloth and paper from it, there are various medical applications for the plant, plus it can get you high. Its all win.

Tip off would likely come from a neighbour, or a user he supplies to. Sorry if this ruins your ridiculous theory

The neighbour can see into his basement, can he? x-ray vision?
The user dobs in his supplier? Right. Good-oh.

Glad my theories are considered ridiculous.

Exactly. When I have a theory, I specifically say: Theory: <insert theory here>

I think it's ironic that the person (D Webster) tipping or trying to tip-off alleged drug-using professional cyclists (eg Sutton) gets pinged for drug use via a tip-off.

Just like it was ironic that Bassons got pinged for missing a doping control.

And that other doping tip off dude got crushed to death between a car and a closed garage door.

Vocal anti-doping advocates are getting slapped around.

Kinda helpful for omerta, don't you think?

And it does absolutely pong if you live close by. Darryl's not exactly got a garden centre going on there but it's enough for a minor stink.

Personally, I find it a bit of a stretch to conflate being anti-dope with a bit of auntie dope and I reckon the Express journo's pseudo righteous indignation smells stronger than Darryl's botany ever did.
