That is brilliant, indeed. Who is she? Is she the only writer with the guts to call out Sir DB with his BS. Awesome.
don't get too excited she is one of the Guardian girls who wouldn't know one end of bike from another.
V. good at getting the feminist boot in though!

To the contrary, what is exciting is that even mainstream columnists can now see through the sham and laugh (how they laugh).

Soon the only remaining deniers will be the jingoistic fan-boys. It's a shame that they'll disappear once the wheels completely come off.

Nevertheless its the best piece from a long time of chamois-sniffing lapdogs how is supposed to understand this sport. However:

Still, hats off to special bubble suits, the latest marginal gain that seems to be easily outweighing months of controversy and suspicion. This, in a way, is the real mystery with Team Sky. You’d think such sustained criticism of your entire setup for almost a year, with riders being asked constantly about it, would have a significant negative impact on results. You might think it would effect a more-than-marginal loss. But here Team Sky are, having made what Sir Dave says is their best start to a Tour de France.

You cant do that without some serious backing. Such as Murdoch money and a president in a Sky kit.

This is exactly the sort of post that leaves cycling as the pariah it is. You don't need to know one end of a bike from the other to listen to the BS the BC/Sky management attempted to present to the select committee and know it is 100% gold plated lies. A box of testosterone does not accidentally turn up at the headquarters of a sport at the heart of ongoing drug scandals AND on top of a performance boom the like of which has never ever been seen in GB sporting history, by mistake. "Oh the pharma giant sent us the next 6 months of PEDs by accident so we just said - whatever - send it back."

This sport is infested with reporters, fans and sponsors who have suspended all rational sense and who have no idea just how stupid they look to people from outside the sport or the minority within the sport who retain some actively functioning cells in the region of the body between their ears.

That Brailsford is putting on the show now, as he does, just as before him, Lance did right up to mid 2012, is a testament to the way he despises the reporters, fans and sponsors, as Lance did before him.

Gobsmackingly good post. Bravo.

You'll also note UKAD have appeared to forgotten about the Jiffy bag investigation now the select committee disbanded and the heat went off he AD. Likely there will never will be a conclusion.

So all that *** we read about (like riders washing hands) was so important because it may have given some microscopic gains.

But having the team under controversy for over a year, doesn't count as a marginal loss.

Fascinating

I'd much rather read that kind of piece about cycling, even if it's by someone who might not know the front from the rear of a bike, than the drivel that is often produced by so called sport journalist. But YMMV i guess.

Makes sense. Turns out being under investigation for corruption, lying and drug abuse is just another marginal gain after all. If only amateur teams stuck in the 80s, like Movistar and BMC, could create their own scandal, we might have a race on.

Such BS.

A team that is not based in one place hardly feels under siege. It is not like every cycling hack is pressing the team for info on jiffy bags.....

Brailsford really does have a huge ego! Wonder does he think he is cycling's 'special one'

Perhaps,

Or, DB wont make much of an apperance before race secured. In which case he will emerge with a new marginal gain (pulling himself from public eye - to design tactical masterstrokes with his «poor means»)

Portal now seems to be the official spokesman for Sky and even Knaven is talking to the press but no sign of Sir Dave. I think his days are numbered.

Just another thing from the playbook. He's limiting the focus on himself while under scrutiny to lessen the negative PR on Sky during the Tour.

Having said that i dont think he have a future with them but stranger things have happened

When the whole "jiffy bag" tale blowup. I'd thought the Murdochs would support SDB until the end of the Tour, then he'll take a new job promoting cycling in Zimbabwe or some such place. Brand name is Sky's game - which is why SDB's hiding in the bus.

All depends on the UKAD investigation and if Wiggins keeps to his threat. One more story of wrong-doing could push the Murdochs to act. Landa might well cause SDB's downfall if the well oiled machine seems broken.

Oh, he'll do much better than that.

My money is on a job in one of the other colonies; either the US, or Oz; probably Oz.

After all; it'll be very hard to take him down later, without potentially casting a shadow on all the previous BC & Sky successes ?

Apparently sky have now also cancelled the 2nd rest day press conference as well. Last time it was flight transfers getting blamed, not sure of the excuse this time. Treating the press (apart from a few UK sycophantic cronies) with disdain this tour.

SDB and Lance promoting cycling in the US - a match made in heaven! Tour de Texas ...

I am surprised ASO are allowing it tbh.
