Walsh tearing into Brailsford, albeit 5 years to late, it is like the Murdoch's dont like the power Braislfrod has over Brit Cycling. Otherwise it dont make sense.

Apparently sky have now also cancelled the 2nd rest day press conference as well. Last time it was flight transfers getting blamed, not sure of the excuse this time. Treating the press (apart from a few UK sycophantic cronies) with disdain this tour.

I am surprised ASO are allowing it tbh.

I think the fact neither they, nor UCI or anyone seems to have protested much (with the exception of that tiny dig made by AC the other day), is telling in and of itself.

They allowed Armstrong/Bruyneel do it.

Anyway how many cycling 'journalists' are writing negative stories about Sky? 5 or 6 at most. The other 50 or so are happy to paste and copy.

Unfortunately Brailsford's criticism of Ryan will have opposite of the intended effect; now Ryan can write just about any negative story about Team Sky and his words will be accepted as gospel truth. Similar story with CyclingNews.

He needs to be a bit more politically savvy.

I was laughing my **** off when I read the article. :D
You can just sense that the reporter was having a blast with this too. I mean, it's such a rich vein of comedy. He could have gone with "Dave, how do you feel about your credibility"? Or maybe request a chair. Something suitable for his stature (i.e., worth). So easy to wind him up! "Sir Brailsford, do you object to the doping investigation into Sky, or just my reporting of it"?

"Have you quit doping your riders already, sir" would be the perfect question.

Funny that Sir is the one explicitly mentioning a doping program.

Comedy gold, this.

When Ryan asked Brailsford what parts of the piece before the Tour de France he considered inaccurate, Brailsford replied: "I'm not getting into that. It was opinion, you write ***.

“We make ourselves available, we answer all the questions and you write this ***.”

The heated exchanged continued. Ryan suggested that the only other person to act like this (with the media) was Bruyneel when he barred Sporza at the 2009 Tour de France.

Brailsford replied: “Are you accusing me of running a doping programme as well?”

Ryan said: “Well, UK Anti-Doping are investigating that...”

At that point Brailsford said, “You can stick it up your arse” and walked off.

Beautiful. Do people in this situation not realise how damning their words will look when written down? Like John Mitchell flipping out when asked for comment on his involvement in Watergate:

"All that crap, you're putting it in the paper? It's all been denied. Katie Graham is gonna get her tit caught in a big fat wringer if that's published."

Awsome. Well documented.

Then it goes on to say he went out on the rest day ride, and made it clear he will not be answering question's upon his return. Kings Landing getting a little worried these days?

very well played indeed.

Ryan making a mockery of the self-proclaimed journos who have their heads so deep up Sky's ass they can't see proper.
Will Fotheringham, David Walsh, Neal Rogers, Matthew Syed, Richard Moore, to name a few who are incapable of asking good pointy questions. Ball-less reporters all hiding behind the same cop out along the lines of "I'm not going to sling mud and throw around baseless accusations. I deal in facts, not insinuations. Show me the proof and I'll write about it."

Can anyone confirm whether the Fotheringhams, Richard Williams and Moore were in attendance. All write for The Guardian and The Guardian recently via Marina Hyde wrote very damning articles about Brailsford/Sky?

This guy makes a great point.

David Mclean‏ @DavidMcleanCycl 3h3 hours ago

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sky are sooooooooo *** at PR. They create so many problems for themselves.

You'd think the worst PR would be from the team whose main sponsor is a country with severe human rights issues. It's not though. It's Sky.

A team sponsored by a media multinational corp cant even get their pr right.

Amazing the failure of foresight from Brailsford to make massive declarations in the beginning and not see how they would come back to take him down.

I suppose he doesn't care too much, he has his riches, his Knighthood and he will have the paid big money to spout marginal gain rubbish talk circuit to look forward too.

This is a scandal to compare Dave Brailsford with Johan Bruyneel without evidence, if Brailsford would he could sue for defamation of he's name.

So you are allowed to smear people without consequences, come on show your evidence and not some links with journalist without credibility.

The thread is full of Brailsford's lies.

Why was there an investigation?

Why was he in front on MP select committee?
