In fairness, I think Madiot finally got the message and changed his attitude a bit. A lot of posters seem to think it is impossible for people to change their opinions etc. I mentioned Didier Rous elsewhere, what do people think of Rous, now a DS at Boguyes Telecom, currently the team leading the cleanest team poll.

I would agree that Madiot has changed his ways. I would put Aldag in this group as well.

Yup, people change. I don't know why some people find it so hard to recouncil with that. I have changed my opinions markedly from my 20's, as have many of the people I know.

What? all the other unmentioned DSs are clean?

I voted Riis for his team's remarkable non-stick coating. Plenty of implied doping but the team's immense Euro-fan base makes Riis slippier than a greased "Hog".

Not a good poll unless we're counting sock puppets.

I think Riis put his finger in air in 2006 and detected that the winds had changed. Whatever program CSC may have been running in the early to mid 00's probably changed. These days I suspect that Riis does what a lot of managers do. He does not activiely participate in doping but may steer riders to where they can get the help on their own. Of course there is probably also a lot of willful blindness.

I pick none of the above. Do not know enough factual information about any of them to form an opinion.

Seems those who are beating on JB have no rational reason to do so. They simply assume he feeds his riders magical doping products using a special patent pending system that no one can detect until after the riders switch to other teams. Or that he and Lance grease the wheels with the UCI with mega-bucks so they look the other way.

This is reverse fanboy thinking. It is simply popular on this forum to bash certain people into the ground.

It is a fact that The Hog's team was caught dumping large bags of dope and syringes. Can you name another DS on that list that this has happened to?

Happened to Bjarnes Gewiss team during Tour of Denmark in 1995. A Danish documentary from 1999-ish has plenty of footage. Back in those days they teams didn't even bother to get rid of the evidence. The hotel rooms were full of syringes, needles, vials and infusion bags. All the teams did to conceal their practices back then was to scratch off the label of the vials.

Very good point, however this happened way before Riis was a DS.

Has this happened to any of these DS's while they were in charge of the team?

To be fair with your answer the only one that they have consistently proved to be doping during JB tenure is Lance Armstrong. So you might have a good point.
