British Registered weightlifter fails an intelligence test.

Takes a concoction of anabolics whilst being banned for similar substances, and offer's the explanation ' I was trying to get back into shape, whilst banned not cheat at competitions"

8 Year ban, which is the minimum possible. However it starts at the end of the 2 year ban being served.

He is effectively out of the sport for his entire career.

Denver Broncos' Wes Welker gets four game suspension for amphetamines, or unofficially, Adderall. And comes out swinging:

"I want to make one thing abundantly clear: I would NEVER knowingly take a substance to gain a competitive advantage in any way. Anyone who has ever played a down with me, lifted a weight with me, even eaten a meal with me, knows that I focus purely on what I put in my body and on the hard work I put in year round to perform at the highest levels year-in and year-out.

"I want any youth football players and all sports fans to know, there are NO shortcuts to success, and nothing but hard work and studying, leads to success.

"I have never been concerned with the leagues performance enhancing or drug abuse policies because under no scenario would they ever apply to me, but I now know, that (drug-policy procedures) are clearly flawed, and I will do everything in my power to ensure they are corrected, so other individuals and teams aren't negatively affected so rashly like this.

Officially, Welker tested positive for an amphetemine. A source close to the situation said Welker tested positive for Adderall. Welker wasn't sure what exactly flagged his positive test but he was incensed at a report he took a Molly at the Kentucky Derby. He does wonder if someone put something in his drink at the Derby.

“I wouldn't have any idea where to get a Molly or what a Molly is,” he said. “That's a joke. I don't do marijuana, I don't do drugs. I don't do any drugs.”

Justin Gatlin runs a blistering 9.77. Better in his 30s, clean, than he was doped to the eyeballs in his twenties. Gatlin has not lost a single 100m and 200m race he participated in this year. A role model for clean sprinting.

Oh wow, the 200m race was only 1 hour after the 100m race. He won, running faster than anyone else has this year. The Gatlin Gun must have been consuming a tremendous amount of Jamaican yams in preparation.

BBC's Mike Costello writes:

The big, big fear is that Gatlin - if he holds onto his form - could be crowned Olympic 100m champion in Rio in two years' time. The king of the games, the sexiest title of them all, could go to one of the biggest drug cheats of all time.

Same as normal then...

No, the others are clean because they haven't tested positive (except Gay and Powell). Gatlin however is doping now (he isn't "credible") because even though he isn't testing positive, he was caught and is hence a heinous drug cheat. That's the BBC logic

Banned sprinter (life ban for second offense) Steve Mullings wrote a book, “Banned For Life”. About the book, he says:

Steve "commitment to the cuase" Mullings said:
“I wouldn’t say I made a mistake … But I want people to learn [from my situation] so that nobody can sabotage them as they sabotaged me.”

Tamoxifen analytical positive.

Just FYI Mr Cookson, should you read the thread. THIS IS TRANSPARENCY.

Good old Nolvadex (tamoxifen), used to suppress oestrogen build up and b1tch t1ts cos you take HCG to kick your gonads back to life and size after a cycle of roids. I know cos I've took all of them!

Perhaps the best sprinter that was never tested positive? Aside from Bolt of course..

Yeah, but he just forgot to file his TUE in time before taking his corticosteroids so he was not doping.

And now the NFL is changing its rules so Welker's suspension will be reduced or even be cancelled, in part because he took it out of season!!!

Good. Guy took E at the Kentucky Derby and handed out 100 dollar bills to total strangers.
I'm fine with that.
At least he wasn't punching out his wife or beating a child.

Beet root juice. :p

I'm double posting these links for some ancient history on the IOC's policy of never testing positive. The first is worth reading several times.

Nothing has changed. Well, except there's an elaborate system hiding "Never testing positive."

Interesting.

The biathlte with the botched blood transfusion at the Albertville games, called Sir Gay Tarasoff in the BBC transcript, is probably otherwise known as Sergey Tarasov.

At the next winter olympics, only 2 years later at Lillehammer, FIS wanted to test blood. IOC just barely tolerated it, under the restriction that no samples should be stored. IOC had a person present at the testing of the samples. He made sure that the every sample was destroyed as soon as the lab staff had analyzed it.

Since we're taking a walk down memory lane, Prince Alexandre de Mérode was loved by the IOC to the point it wouldn't accept his resignation.

http://www.nytimes.com/2002/11/22/s...e-merode-68-head-of-ioc-antidrug-efforts.html

Fascinating stuff. Apparently he made repeated efforts to at least legitimately address anti-doping but *many* others in the IOC were enabling. It seems like we're still there.

While we're talking about IOC testing, I'm immediately reminded of Rob Hayles' positive the day before the World track Champs. He failed the 50% Hct test.

Then did not get selected for the Oly road team, despite smashing everyone in the nationals.

Remembering it was a 50% hct "health check" that they did and that he failed, he had this to say,

Hayles produced some brilliant form to win the National road title in June.

But his inconsistency during 10 days of qualification for the track squad cost him his place.

"I knew I was up against it to make the track team. And I saw it coming when they didn't pick me.

"But I smashed all the riders on the road. And not just in that one race but over an eight-week period.

"I knew I wouldn't be going out for a medal on the road. No British rider will be doing that.

"However, I was still disappointed when I didn't get selected."

Hayles dismisses speculation that selectors were scared of a repeat of his world championship blood testing problems.

"Initially, it crossed my mind. But I'm pretty much sure that's not the case now.

"Besides, they don't do the same testing at the Olympics, they did before the Worlds.

ie no 50% Hct health check.

Laughable.

Two oxen die during a competition of stone drafting in the Basque Country. It is the second case this year.

The local veterinary didn't want to take blood samples so they called one from the neighbour region. The lab test showed the presence of high doses of amphetamines in the animals' blood.

The article also describes rivalries among stockbreeders leeding to whistleblowing, fines, revenges and burnt stables.

todos lo hacen
ya no es deporte, es tráfico de drogas
Uno de ellos remata: «El 98% de quienes participan lo hacen pinchando droga

is this satire or something? sounds too familiar :p
who says that 98% thing? danilo di luca? lol

while fueling yourself to the limit with all kinds of stuff to compete is something i can't blame you and i do understand it, doing that to some innocent animals is absolute cruel and i hope these people will live the other lifes as bulls on speed themselves
