All those second tier sprinters in the way, I just wanna see Cav on kittel wheel with 250 to go (that's the most likely chance that he wins IMO)

I wanna see an actual race where the "second tier sprinters in the way" stay in the way and ruin the chances for both and win some themselves. That will be nice, and prevent a monotomous year.

That would be good, but they have to be equally in the way of all of the big 5

Re: Dubai Tour - February 3-6, Dubai AE 2.HC

Wow really bad position for Cav, seems like his lead out still needs a lot of tuning.

Re: Dubai Tour - February 3-6, Dubai AE 2.HC

Sheesh that was dominant by Kittel.

This race is his. Barring bad luck he will dominate the remaining two sprint finishes. Even I he only wins one he will still need to lose at least 15-20 seconds on Hatta Dam and that's unlikely on such a short incline.

$2.75 on Bet365. Should be odds on.

Easy one for Viviani.I suppose that crash had something to do with Kittel not being there.

Bennati should be sprinting instead of doing perfect leadouts for Kolar

Having the tunnel near the finish line was always going to be risky.
Also was a really awful design from a viewing perspective. Pretty much the only interesting thing in this race is the positioning in the last 5km and the battle between the big sprinters. To not have coverage at such a key point is ridiculous planning.

That was one of the worst sprints from a great leadout I have seen ever indeed from Kolar. Perhaps if it was tailwind they should go for Kolar but in a headwind like this Kolar is just too weak, and Bennati would indeed have been much better.

Yep... but for some reason when Bennati leads the team he always gets boxed in and just gives up

In previous editions that has not been 1km to go - they have turned left coming out the tunnel and gone down the coastal road to a roundabout, then back up on the opposite side for the sprint at the hotel. Apparently that part of the coastal road is shut for roadworks.

That may be their reason, but I don't really buy that as an excuse. Why not just change the route if there are roadworks? Or at the very least put some static cameras and decent lights in the tunnel (after all, money is not an issue here). It basically spoilt the climax to the stage.

I thought the Eurosport commentators implied that it was only this morning that they changed the route, presumably the work over ran.
