Post rest-day is Astana's favourite day. Aru will crush Dumoulin in the TT, you read it here first ;)

You never know, could have a bad reaction to the rest day blood bag

More likely to be Dumoulin with the bad reaction, Astana too well-versed ;-)

I think most people are overestimating his TT abilities. This ITT will be as long as the TT in the tds and there he didnt even get 2 minutes on pinot, majka wasnt even one and a half minute behind. 3 or 4 minutes are very hard to imagine, because honestly 38 kilometers really aren't that much.

Still Aru needs another minute and a half to be on the safer side before the TT which will be hard to get if Domoulin can keep up the newly found mountain goatness.

Also freshness will be a big factor with a TT coming this late, and Major Tom is totally killing himself right now.

Good point... It didn't seem possible and I don't remember him looking that tired crossing the line. My bad (english too).

He was actually better on the steeper climbs then on the long climbs. Confirms what his trainer said. He can do amazing wattages for 5-25 minutes. But not on a 40m climb or more
Its time he got some proper training from a swimming coach :D

He did well on all kinds of climbs, multiple mountain stages in the third week of a GT and he is on his way to win the whole thing with no team. Next thing will find out that Giant was secretly preparing him to podium the Vuelta but he surprised himself and his staff by winning.

Come on, he's like 70kg and he's beating Purito on a super-steep finish after spending much more time in the wind on the slightly flatter sections. Fast-forward a bit, and now, after 16 days of fatigue, he's able to hang on on the super steep stuff after having no experience whatsoever in managing fatigue over a Grand Tour.

Your argument about 'well, Froome is the same weight' doesn't work unless you are suggesting that Froome is clean. Otherwise, by your own admission, he is extremely similar to a practically known doper (believe me, nationalism can blind your eyes - I too used to be in a state of denial about Froome doping, with patriotism clouding my judgement)
