Ah yes, the race that forces me to get up an hour earlier to reach my job, only to be stuck there till 6 O'clock because I can't leave it. And then get interupted whenever I take two hours off to watch the race.

Atleast I don't have to teach between 2 and 5 this year.

If wva rides to win this it puts him in jeopardy days later. The field is so too heavy for the monuments it doesn’t make sense to go crazy for every race on march
Seems like typically 3 days has been enough recovery at this time of year? Only 188.6 k... :D

The race were Trek decided to ride at Sunday-ride-pace uphill, half the peloton had to put foot on the ground and team-attacking after.

The best race nicknames:
Paris-Nice: The race to the sun
Il Lombardia: The race of the fallen leaves
Dwars Door Vlaanderen: The race that forces me to get up an hour earlier to reach my job, only to be stuck there to 6 O'clock because I can't leave it

Rolls right off the tongue.

@Netserk not sure how one adds that little thumbnail for the thread like you did for the Ronde...
See the instructions in the Uijtdebroeks thread:

It should work with this image: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...eren.png/800px-Logo-Dwars_door_Vlaanderen.png

Thanks, that image would be perfect. Like the other poster, I just get a "can't add thumbnails" and nothing else to click on. Don't see how I'd add this. Obviously missing something basic.

I guess you're saying add that image to the original post then it will be available as a thumb? Trying to do that, but getting server errors. Will have a look later.

I would've said Hagenes if he hadn't crashed on Friday. Now either Van Aert himself has to pull the chestnuts out of the fire. Or this might end up being a quite conservatively ridden Dwars door Vlaanderen.

Turgis of course wants to prove himself here. Küng? I have a hard time seeing a path to victory for him anywhere. I wish it was differently and he could take just one epic win. He seems to be a genuinely sympathy person.

Sadly, it gets windy & rainy only on Thursday.

I'd like to see Wout check this off the list, but I can't see him going 100% just days away from one of his two main goals of the year.

'To pull the chestnuts out of the fire' is that really an expression in English? It is in Danish, but I don't think you're a Dane. A surprise to me that that expression can be used in other languages.

Do I really have to pick a winner for this race? I feel like fired my chestnuts for E3 and the Ronde.

Fine. But it seems like a lot of work.

Jorgenson, because I'm too lazy to think about it.

I'm guessing he's from a country where the keyboards have an umlaut. That rules out English as a mother tongue.

Yeah, it sounds like something my father's generation would say, but definitely an english phrase.

In German as well.

Here's Het Nieuwsblad's star rating for today:

* **** van Aert
**** Philipsen, Pedersen
*** Wellens, Benoot, Lazkano
** Meeus, Jorgenson, Stuyven, Alaphilippe
* Campenaerts, Girmay, Magnier, Pithie, Milan

With a weakened Visma team and all eyes on van Aert, the break may also have a chance again, I guess.
