It was good to see Nuyens winning. Great job in the front. Thomas didn't do any work in the last kilometers. It would have been great if Amorison was there too. He really helped Nuyens. And, specially, good indeed it didn't end in a bunch sprint. :)

2nd and 4th for Sky, not a bad sprint by Hayman. Very promising showing from the classics squad, lots of guys at the sharp end of the race looking strong and organised. Now they just need to WIN something.

And lots of different guys too. It's almost as if they've become the team that everyone thought Garmin Cervelo would be: Lots of great riders, but lacking a superstar.

Early days still...

I see the Dutch have been watching with one eye closed again.
As gracious in victory, as they are in defeat!
Both Nuyens and Thomas did a lot of work.
Davide Cassani called Thomas "generous" for leading out the sprint.
Personally, I'd call it daft.
Should have jumped on Nuyens wheel, instead of attempting a tired sprint
up the other side of the road.

Nuyens confirms "every time Thomas lead, the speed went down, I had the feeling he was keeping reserve the whole time and didn't really want to ride"

Nuyens must post here a lot.

Nuyens is a Belgian.

This is objective observation. Something you should try someday Mellow.
If you actually watched with your eyes open, like I did, then you saw Thomas didn't do much for long periods of times.

Like I already said, only at the end he started sharing the work.

I agree, Thomas clearly did less than his fair share of the work in the wind; and I'm free of any patriotic allegiances. ;)

Generous? Thomas attacked Nuyens with 400 m to go. It wasn't a lead out; he was trying to win.

Well, Flecha is often well above average in these races so I would say that he is at least damn close to being a superstar. He lacks the monument wins that Boonen or Cancellara has but so does almost every other rider as well.

Considering Thomas was struggling to stay on the climbs it is no wonder he couldn't do as much as Nuyens. But he defo didn't wheelsuck.

I disagree, but we have had our fair share of pointless discussions before on PPDB, so we'll agree to disagree eh Ruben and save some bandwidth on this site ;)

The division of labour was probably 60 -30 - 10 between Nuyens, Thomas and Amorison. Clearly the best and most eager guy won.
