Flecha was already the weakest link, but tactically he did great. He had to force Boonen to haul Canc back, otherwise he would have done Boonen's dirty work. In then end Canc was so strong, even Boonen couldn't catch his wheel.

Great race!

Perhaps Boonen wasted to much energy charging up those hills 2-3 times.

decent ride by Cancellara, he's looking good for Paris Roubaix.

Flecha and Boonen - good rides by them, likely to see a lot more of them in April hopefully.

Yep good race. Shame Flecha didn't have a go, but it seems he couldn't.

At first I thought Canc going just before that roundabout and having to ease off again straight away was a strange move, but it worked perfect because Boonen was obviously as surprised as I was.

Yeah, with a little video editing they totally dominated

Nuyens touching the ground 3 times was a bit much, but I doubt he could have followed the great 3 of today. Tjallinigii's move was a good one, but in the end useless. Langeveld seems to be a little stuck in his growth. He's still young, but he showed more promise 2 years ago, I hope he proves this wrong next week.
In the end these races are won by just a few guys, maybe 5 right now. Rabo doesn't have anyone capable of that at this moment. Boom or Langeveld could surprise, but I highly doubt Nuyens will win anything important.

I agree with you, they seem to have a pretty strong team for the classics but clearly lack someone who can finish.. a standout leader. Maybe boom in a couple years. Nuyens has his days... but I agree doesn't having the same solidness that someone like boonen has. I rate him as high as Gilbert on the cobbles though. That being said I don't see gilbert winning either P-R or RVV.

rabobank seemed the strongest team today, but they miss a guy like Boonen or Canc, a superspecialist for this kind of work. But hey, the guys doing it today for them were 24 and 26, a lot younger then the guys upfront. And Boom is superb for someone doing his first flander classics

I think that it is quite worrying for Boonen that his team is not as good as it was in the past and supposed to be. Because he will need them more than today in de ronde nex week

That has always been rabo's problem, okey they have freire, but he is nonly good enough to win MS, in the Amstel, waalse pijl en liege they also have one of the strongest squads, but lack a guy who is fast in the sprints. Maybe Martens can do it, if he develops further, he is really fast

ya Martens impresses me a lot. Has a lot of versatility about him too.
having a solid season.

I think gesink is a real chance at F-W

Yes Martens is in fine form, in MS he was also superb for freire.

And I see Gesink do fine in F-W, especially if A Schleck in the shape he is now

Fleche Wallone (Waalse Pijl)

Boonen, Cancellara, Flecha and Pozzato the main men for Flanders. If Pozzato was better positioned at the foot of the Patersberg he would be in the first group for sure.
Cancellara really strong, hopefully not a week too early?

Boom and Langeveld..best of the rest, i'm pretty sure no Dutchman will win Flanders or Roubaix for at least another year, the four I named are still in a league of their own.
