Thanks!
EF have so many riders who could potentially thrive in a race like Tour Down Under and they send this...
I guess at least Nerukar could do well but otherwise the roster looks like they're just trying to be at the start line without comitting too much.
They are sending Chaves as a Chaperone!Per PCS, EF's start list for The Tour Down Under...
EF Education - EasyPost (WT)
With the exception of Chaves, it seems very young.
- 141CHAVES Esteban
- 142TODOME Yuhi
- 143NERURKAR Lukas
- 144VAN DER LEE Jardi Christiaan
- 145BELOKI Markel
- 146WALKER Max
- 147MACKELLAR Alastair
I think the rest of riders are all 23 and under.
edit: the TD website also show these two riders in reserve
#R Owain DOULL
#R Harrison SWEENY
That was a great piece of research!EF have 29 riders.
9, 17, 20, 26, 27, 28. 29- these are places of the 7 riders they're sending to TdU in terms of how many PCS points they scored in 2024 out of all EF riders. Nearly the worst squad possible.

A good start for riders, is always a good start. Look at Pithie last year and his spring after that. Narvaez and Williams. Onley. Del Toro. All had pretty good seasons.so 2025 will be their year...
I dont know TDU always feels too early for teams to care about, unless theyve got aussie riders looking for champs form, or aussie sponsors to please, despite the expense alot seem to treat it like a warm weather training camp in somewhere thats not Calpe.
Still going to the middle east just a few weeks later should give a similar start to the season without having to endure the long travel or jet lag. Or even staying at Mallorca is not really a bad option.A good start for riders, is always a good start. Look at Pithie last year and his spring after that. Narvaez and Williams. Onley. Del Toro. Both Pithie and Narvaez did their nationals after as well.Still going to the middle east just a few weeks later should give a similar start to the season without having to endure the long travel or jet lag. Or even staying at Mallorca is not really a bad option.
And Nerukar didn't do well. We haven't even had the queen stage, yet and already no EF riders under a minute of GC lead. Doesn't look like they're gonna come anywhere close to a stage win either with this roster. Predictably mediocre.EF have so many riders who could potentially thrive in a race like Tour Down Under and they send this...

Stage three they had several riders at the front as the peloton was approaching key moments, like they were planning to be in the mix at the end. But then were suddenly nowhere to be seen. And Nerukar didn't do well. We haven't even had the queen stage, yet and already no EF riders under a minute of GC lead. Lukas (Nerurkar), I am your father.Stage 5: A New Hope
Stage 6: The EFpire Strikes Back
Surf Coast Classic: Return of the Jardi (van der Lee)
Who would say that? Milan Vader?Lukas (Nerurkar), I am your father.
That was my first thought (even before I read your reply).Who would say that? Milan Vader?

Maybe they will have more luck at Etoile de Bessèges
EF needs every advantageI dont think so.
They'll likely be thrown out of the race immediately for fielding eight riders.
