I suppose it boils down to regions.
The Great Amazing Cheese Race, which was supposed to have been held just two days after P-R has sadly - but understandably - already been cancelled/postponed. However, Roue Tourangelle this Sunday appears to be on, so do Grand Besancon (16th) and Tour du Jura (17th)

The French truly are mocking us (no xenophobia intended).

This is exactly my point - It's the local authorities who don't wish to hold PR - It's not a central Government or central health authority decision.

Well, if the situation is better where Tourangelle, Besancon, and Jura are being held... (not necessarily the same place).

Well, to the surprise of absolutely no one, here's the forecast for the Roubaix, France region this Sunday:

Highs in the low 40s, 70% chance of rain and wind gusts up to 15MPH.

Sigh...

Assuming you're using Fahrenheit, coz otherwise that would be some insanely high temperatures for early April!

And now it looks like Besancon and Jura has been called off.

Yea, I'm in the states and have not yet managed to decipher Celsius. I have managed to figure out kilometers!

Long range prediction - With the way approaches COVID, I doubt there will be a TDU in January 2022 and I even have doubts for the worlds in September 2022.

The current state of play to get the Aussie races done in early 2022 is being vaccinated and a seven day quarantine - We need more detail but a seven day quarantine is unlikely to fly with the peleton.

So they are going to keep restrictions going for multiple years despite having a daily average of 0 deaths and the whole country vaccinated?

The federal budget predicted they will keep borders closed until mid 2022 - Lets see what happens.

At this stage my post about theTDU is ringing true - The Aussie Government will need to reduce their quarantine requirements or there will be no TDU, and it may even get to the stage where the UCI takes away the World's for September 22.

Australia will become the new Turkmenistan at this rate.

Seriously, if all or almost all of the population is going to be vaccinated keeping the borders close seems a bit too much, no?

What are you talking about? There's no covid in Turkmenistan! Only... unspecified stuff... and dust...

I don't think they have even started, or only barely? And tbh, it's probably going to be difficult to get enough people interested as long as the borders are closed, as this results in no no urgency at all for most people

Their vaccination rates are getting close to 20% - There has been an upsurge in take out rates in the last week.

Have to think the two Canadian races are in doubt, after Canada cancelled the F1 race, a PGA golf Tournament, while there two tennis tournaments for August are nearly sure to be cancelled.

Arguably belongs here

Österreich-Rundfahrt cancelled this year as well at least in part due to additional Covid costs and uncertainties
