La Florecita seems to have two of Edmondon
Edmondson twice
Only game not based on points and immediately I screw up
Poljanski my only unique pick

skidmark said:Gee, what a surprise. Just call me mr. popular.
I was glad to see that Yves Lampaert and Sepulveda were my most unique picks, as (not coincidentally) they were my last 2 additions to the team. Also not surprised that of the 2 other people who picked Lampaert, one is my CQ collaborator/nemesis mc_mountain, ha.
edit: actually, I see that those two, along with Olivier, are my only riders not in the top 18 'collective wisdom' team. Wow!
I'm pretty okay with that; having a popular team is usually a good thing in CQ games, and I would imagine that a 3-year game only reinforces this principle, as less is left to chance than someone having an off year or something. Then again, not all hot prospects work out, so it works differently than, say, picking Boonen for one year at 139 points, because you know he's going to have a much better year than that since he's Tom freakin' Boonen. I have to admit the jury is out for me as to what is the best strategy for this game, so I'm eager to keep track.
MADRAZO said:So far bad start for me otherwice with my least popular pick Van Der Poel, stating a few days after the deadline that he would not focus much on the road afterall the next couple of years, so he will likely be a fairly bad pick despite his huge talent.

Armchair cyclist said:Flo has asked to add SÜTTERLIN Jasha in place of one of the Edmondsons (but not specified which one): given that the rider is in her main game and youth game squads I don't think there can be an accusation of lifting the recommendation from the published teams, so I'll allow that.
I'll also allow Mutschi's late addition of Michael Vink to bring his roster up to 18. It is a unique pick, so not inspired by seeing the teams published, and although he won the New Zealand Cycle Classic which finished after the deadline, those points are unlikely to be decisive over three years.

skidmark said:Well, Lampaert showing he's got the goods in KBK... I expect solid placement as well as improvement in sprint positioning etc. Kudus looking solid as well - gotta admit I did not expect him to develop so quickly, but happy to see it.
When's the next update? Is it monthly? I wonder if, Armchair, you'd be interested in doing it every 2 weeks or something? Or maybe the first year, monthly, then the second year twice monthly, then the third year weekly? I dunno, it's nice to follow along. No stress though.
