On the other hand, if he is shoulder to shoulder with Farrar, the finish wasnt really hard enough for a puncheur..

Gilbert '09, '10, '11 would have destroyed everybody on this finish

demare is trying to do only classics??

And one week stage races, yes. Certainly this season anyway. Bouhanni was understandably tired from the Giro so surely it would have made sense to send Demare to the Tour rather than putting all of their eggs in the Pinot basket. I doubt they make the same mistake next year...

The frequently interrupting commentator on Eurosport is annoying as hell. Talks too fast. Interrupts unnecessarily and way too often. Just annoying.

Declan Quigley. He makes Carlton Kirby seem almost bearable in comparison, which is a truly remarkable accomplishment.

how did demare get leaders jersey? he was 12 sec down yest, right?

Renshaw was classified with +5 seconds after his mechanical.

he can be happy with that btw, usually you get the time of the last rider in that group as far as I know. Not to mention the fact that he never would have managed to stay within 5 seconds anyway

Bouhanni was bad in the Tour because he got heat stroke on Corsica then crashed in the first sprint back on the mainland.

Tailor made finish for Degenkolb today. Too hard for the pure sprinters and not hard enough for the punchers.

Poor showing by AS - maybe too much partying at Degenkolb's wedding ;-)

Daniel Oss is a great domestique.

He's showing some great skill at that; maybe he should consider moving his career in that direction but by working for any winning leader. :p

Great win. The young guy has been impressive this season. Next few seasons could be interesting for him with the talent he has already shown.

The wheather forcast doesn't predict echelons for the Zeeland stage :(

Ah well, they finish on this island, so it' just tough luck I guess.

Schouwen-Duiveland-Island_PA1WLB-P.jpg

Looks like the finish is on that narrow strip (connecting the two islands) on the left

4 man break with approx 5 mins:

RASMUSSEN Alex
TERUEL ROVIRA Eloy
DOMONT Axel
WALLAYS Jelle

Domont only 22 seconds down on gc

Lol Zeeland really is a silly area as far as wind is concerned. Wheather reports say it's 2 on the beaufort scale, maybe 3 right at the coast and there are reports of echelons al ready according to Sporza. :D

Seriously I live like >50km north of where they are racing, and >20km of the coast, but there's barely any movement in the tree's when I look out of the window. In Zeeland however it's enough for echelons apparently.

People you should watch this, 70km out, just turned in, saw the peloton in five pieces right when I started watching. There gonna cross that spot another two times before finishing and OPQS and some others are going full gass trying to split things up.

Local laps on a wind-stage is about the most stupid thing race organisers can do...

you mean, but for the puncture, right?

I mean, if he was there in the front, then he would be part of that final sprint, and could have ended up with the same time. But, I think he paid for slowing down in the sprint in stage 1.
