I can't believe that a team trailing the game, show such little effort. Seriously the Germans just cruised in 2nd gear, they didn't even play good because they didn't have to. In the last 15mins when we had a sniff and they had the ball we applied no pressure just let them waste time, it was just lazy.

Indeed. Things are looking up for the Belgium team I expect them to actually make sme tournaments in the coming years.

We really gotta work on / develop some decent defenders. Full backs are less crucial, they benefit from two solid centre backs. And you'd expect Willems to improve, or likely develop as a winger in the future (he clearly has the skill and technique)

Me and my father were just discussing this. Been a decade since we had anything in defense.

Also what the hell is the point of having Van bommel and de Jong when they give schwinstieger so much space, both goals came from him having acres of space and time to play a simple pass.

Also I'm quite fed up with robben, I don't think it was a great sub. But his attitude is terrible. As said earlier in this thread, while still good, he is not the player he was two years ago.

Robben is over. Even his speed isn't good anymore and his dribbles are too predictable.

Bring Narsingh. 20 assists at Heerenveen and the cause of Dost being topscorer. Narsing >> Robben
Bring in Lens or Elia on the other wing. Much more speed.

Sneijder can launch them and Huntelaar can finish if he finally gets crosses.

You seem to know the team very well.

If you think the defense is so great and Hazard and Fellaini are too, please name the "bad" players, apart from the strikers. And I do mean from the players that would actually play when there are no injuries.

They just don't form a great team.

They may as well have fielded a traffic cone, although given Holland's colour schem that would at least save washing one shirt.

If there was ever a moment for the Dutch soccer elite and the knvb to finally acknowledge that defenders first need to be able to defend, instead of being able to do tricks and triangles, I don't know when it'll happen.

For the rest, I think I can't name one player who actually played well. Even the simplest things didn't work, like passing a ball. Heck, even reading a player's intention, going deep, wanting the ball short, in his feet, was something they couldn't do. What did they practice during training sections? Set pieces, I can't think of a good corner, or free kick. Defensively, people didn't even know who should cover who, or follow who, or step forward to cover an upcoming German. No coaching, or communication. All those things could or better, should, be discussed before a match as well as during trainings.

Well ok your backs aren't great either. And it doesn't help Verthongen has to play out of his natural position as left back.
The fact that Timmy Simons sometimes plays isn't good either And your stirkers are awful. I saw Lukaku and he has potential but he seems to be hanging. Mirallas or whatever he is called is just laughable.

IMO he has to roll the dice and completely change things up;
Go with both RVP and huntelaar.
Give narsing a run, stick with robben I suppose. Sniejder in mid with de Jong behind. And then whatever in defense like it makes a difference who we have there.

I wouldnt mind taking de Jong out also
