I reject nationalism as well.

Especially when we didn't qualify for Euro 2016
That is funny.

You guys will be alright. Just need that new young energy and the Orange attack will be back.

I love to watch your countries team. I end up rooting for them at every world cup since 1994 , I know they have had great team before that but during that world cup the best match was Netherlands v. Brazil. July 9th in Dallas Tejas. Man that was an awesome game and awesome party. We showed up to the stadium in the morning time and started bbq in the parking lot. One giant party. The match was the best of the entire WC that year.

Ronaldo was pretty bad yesterday. Not Rooney-bad, but still bad.
Atm, Renato Sanchez and to a lesser extent Nani are the ones with the odd flash of geniality in the Port. squad.

Such a pain to watch Ronaldo moan and complain all the time.
I reckon the team spirit suffers from it.

Still, I decided Portugal was the deserved winner when I realized I hadn't seen Rui Patricio all match.

How old is this Polish squad? The defense and generally their organization looked very solid. If they can keep this squad together and the spirit going, they should qualify for the WC 2018 easily.

Really sorry indeed for Blasczykowski.
Was the best player on the pitch yesterday, imo. I'd be surprised if Dortmund don't bring him back for the coming season.

I'd say the average age of their line-up yesterday should be around 26/27 years-old.

cheers.
well, what Poland have lacked this tournament and what they desperately need if they want to threaten the establishment, imo, is (a) one player with exceptional speed and (b) one player with exceptional shooting technique.
All great teams have players of th (a) and (b) type, or a player who combines those two qualities (e.g. Messi, Ronaldo, Robben, Bale).

As for Belgium-Wales, I see wilmots made one positive change, replacing Mertens for Carrasco, which means more creativity and goal threat. Anybody know what's up with Dembele? Can he play or is he still injured?

this could become a real spanking for Wales.
Bales looks in great form, but I doubt it will suffice against this Belgian squad.

Great goal from Nangolan, but the keeper hardly came off the ground, and weak hands!

Lukaku (the striker) looks huge. I mean Lewandowski, Pelle and Gomez are huge, but this guy...

edit: I take that back. Wales look bright. I think they might equalize, from a corner.
:D

I bet many Belgians were shitting in their pants just now when Bale was running with the ball against four defenders.....
yes, impressive.
needs to work on that right foot a bit though.

still, I see Bale overshadowing Ronaldo next season. He's just so much better atm.

Meanwhile Belgium playing with fire by letting Wales have so much possession.
And again Williams with a free header from a corner!

Wales seem to have more plan than Belgium.

Belgian defense is all over the place.
Ramsey to miss semis if Wales advance.
This is all good news for Portugal now.

Ref now missing two blatant fouls on belgian players, one of them a clear penalty on Nangolan.
Vokes deciding the game two minutes later.
Tough luck.
Meanwhile Courtois makes Hart look like a decent goal keeper.

Portugal has everything to win this euro

They might start by actually winning one game in regulation time :p

But of course, I don't want that - Cymru am byth :D :D :D

What a sick header.

That was a great game. Both teams played positive football. Robson-Kanu's finish was just clinical. Vokes' goal was sweet not sick.

No way that was a clear penalty, but then I am clearly biased. I agree though that the ref was not in control of the game.

Fairy tale outcome. Congrats to Wales.

Absolutely. The 2-1 deserved to win any game, and the 3-1 was a fabulous header. And that opening goal...

I strongly suspect that only Portuguese will be supporting Portugal next week, at least going by what all my English and Dutch footy friends are saying.

Clear as day that penalty on Naingolan. It was a clear stamp. But Belgium lacked a real playing concept, just like they lack a concept of what their nation should be. Wilmots has to take responsibility and resign. They need a coach that will bring the best out of one of the best squads in the world. They should be getting to semis, maybe finals of major tournaments.

Called it right after the Hungary game that the hype was simply not justified. The after talk/criticism now is pretty hilarious keeping in mind what was said a few days ago.

Belgian flags can go back in the closet now for 2 years ;)

That defense, without Vermaelen and Kompany, was not world class at all.
Dembele was also missed.
But yes, lots of potential in the team if all these guys are fit and if Hazard and DeBruyne can be consistent at that level. DeBruyne today wasn't good enough.

Carrasco off was a dubious decision, imo.
