BTW, I'm guessing the reason they started with the men's road race was to give riders a chance to do both that and the Vuelta, and 15 riders have indeed jumped onto the fast plane to the Netherlands. Of course, it also has the nice bonus of making the women's road race the "big finale" for once.
Nobody has been crazy enough to do both the ITT and the Vuelta, even though it - technically - would be possible.
