This.

I count myself as huge Roglič fan and i think he is one of the best riders in the world not to mention his grit and fighting spirit.. but when climbing is involved Vige is head and shoulders above any rider imo. At least in his current state and form. I cant imagine any1 keeping up with him right now.
Well yesterday I'd have said Vingo was the best climber in the world. But every day on the bike is a new day.
I think Primoz can win a Tour, he just needs to stay on his bike and the competion not in their best shape. He has the Desire, Will and Spirit besides he is a grand bike rider. Geez, if Sastra can win one, so can he!

If someone is a glass half empty sort of person, the talk of Vingegaard doing the Giro-Tour double (or triple with the Vuelta? like how would that even be possible...) could be bad news, actually.

We're in an era where 'sky is the limit' & if Vingegaard & his clan (his wife is his manager after all) have eyes on racing the other GT's + the Tour as well, then that doesn't leave much for Rog.
Michelle Cound vibes...

Yet he had 1 Grand Tour more than all those 3 together...
Add Simon Yates, and they are in the same league ;)
I'm talking right now. I also can say Froome is better than Pog and Vingegaard because he has more Tours than both together.

A bit emotional as on stage 6 of this years edition likely Pogi would chose on Tourmalet on who this years leader is at JV. This could have been the day.

Anyway. When it comes to Roglič and the Tour. Going there as a leader with dedicated team support. This is more or less it. Tackling Pogi with some half assed tactics. That would never work.

Had Rog been at the Tour this tactic could have worked. He would have been able to hold on in the last 3km and beat Pog to the line

@Divergence

Likely Pogi would be isolated on Tourmalet and likely, after a couple of exchanges from the JV duo, he would need to let either Rogla or Jonas go. A wheel from van Aert waiting on the other side. Perfect terrain for TTT. If Rogla would be the one indeed once van Aert would empty himself, Rogla would likely stomp. Maybe to be seen in some future Tour edition then. We'll see.

He is training for Vuetla.

I think (according to reports I saw on Twitter), Rog is going to Tignes next week to prepare for the Vuelta.

So he probably is watching the Tour. There was an article (I think by Kate Wagner) in 2021 where she attempted to interview him whilst he was watching the Giro (Bernal's win). So the man is not much different than the rest of us cycling fanatics, i.e. we all watch the GT's.

I can't imagine what he was thinking when seeing Jumbo attack like that from so far out.

Rog must be thinking he could have won this tour. What a stab in the back by his team...

Based on what? He couldn't follow Thomas and Almeida who are 2 steps below than these two.

If anything, he is licking his lips becasue if today and two days ago is what we will see for the rest of the Tour (as in Pogacar dropping Jonas), JV will beg him to go to the TdF next year.

Masnada won Tour of hainan more than Remco, pogacar, vinegard and roglic combined.

Masnada won more Giro del trentino stages than remco, pogacar, vingeggard and riglic combined.

Masnada won more Tour of Oman stages than Roglix, remco, vingegard and pigacar combined.

I don't think I need to go on

Looks like Rogla vs Remco again at Vuelta! While we are at Remco. If you combine Pogi, Jonas and Remco GT victories. They can barely match Rogla. Rogla too being a monument winner. Talking about top 5!

P.S. Masnada, i agree that here Fausto is unmatched!
