Jokes aside. In my opinion Rogla is all about Vuelta now. He likely watches the Tour in the afternoon. After training. But ATM likely couldn't care less about it. From his personal ambitions point of view. Trying to secure a GT double. That is a worthy goal for any season and hopefully JV is active in regards to the team preparations too. That are the current requirements and this is in my opinion something that JV can still manage just fine. Here Jonas or no Jonas can't be a problem.

Looks like Jan rehabilitation is going well. Will be interesting to see if he races again this season. He was rather emotional for not being there with Primož on Višarje.

They don't need to buy him out. After all the years of working together and success they had, all he needs to do is say: "I want out" and he will be a free bird. He earned that.
Could be the Jumbo brass sees it the same way. They might be more focused on everything they’ve done for him.

And a team which just got second (almost first) in the Giro with a 37 year old will absolutely want him, I'm sure.
Ineos wanted Rog last year (Zeeman refused), so the interest existed & I see no reason why it would be lesser now, especially considering Rog came back stronger than last season.

So if Pogi was setting the benchmark for the Tour victory. And Rogla needed to find 2 minutes and finish healthy. The stakes just went up to 10 minutes.
P.S. The only good thing about this i guess is this can't be sustainable on the long run. For the Tour champion to keep winning the Tour by 10 minutes margin and for years to come. So i guess it still comes down to preparing the best you can and having a dedicated team support. For the rest the road will tell.

For real, I think today offers some hope for Roglic if he stays at Jumbo. Pog cracking, Vingegaard wasn't all that recovered from yesterday either.

crazy for Kuss to ride all three as the #2 in the mountains for one of the big favorites for the races.
Edit: it kinda makes sense for a pure climber to do these races instead of races with puny little climbs in the spring, but still.
But yeah decent team. Shame that steven kruijswijk isn’t recovering well enough to be on the list.

Sepp Kuss has to ride, the whole race! Last year at the Vuelta, he DNSed before stage 9, and then look what happened.
And I suspect he will and make two or three decisive pulls along the way.
I hope he doesn’t have to do too many Adam Hansen years though

Carlos Sastre, in his penultimate season managed to be 8th in the Giro, 19th in the Tour and 7th in the Vuelta. Years before that he also managed to be 43rd/3rd/4th . So it's not impossible to ride all three with decent to very good form. It's just not done very often and probably not an exercise advisable for most pros I guess.
It’s a lot of race days and time away.
And yeah Kuss handles himself well on the climbs and doesn’t have to stress over gc and can chill at the back end of the peloton on mountain stages and all that.
He’ll probably be fine, but I don’t think you get the best of Kuss if you have him do all three especially several years on the trot.

Sure but this is his first attempt and last year he only did the Tour. All I am saying that it's possible to ride all 3 on a good to very good level. Maybe the rational is that he regenerates very well, yet is inconsistent, so he can take off days while others can't. I mean in contrast so Sastre he won't be riding two out of three for GC. And Adam Hansen of course build his carreer around riding all GTs in a season for several seasons.
I don't know if it's the crash but you can definitely see Kuss getting worse during this Tour. He's still more than good enough to be one of the strongest mountain doms, of course, but a climb like La Loze is normally bread and butter for him, it's what he grew up doing on altitude in Colorado. Just look how he personally destroyed Pogi there a few years ago. This year he was far from that level. So I'm not sure he will still be fresh enough to tackle the Vuelta as well.
yeah I also think JuVi is a bit stressed thin for climbers when having one of the big favorites in all 3 GC's. And so far it worked out well for them in 2/3 of the races already. I agree he'll probably be good even if he lacks a few %, but that's still better than most climbers

Even if Kuss was a total lunatic I would still want him on my Giro team if I was going for the win
I think Sepp might have asked to go with Rog as well.
