I really like your takes sometimes👍

I completely agree and could not have put it better. I said in another thread there’s an all-out war at TJV, started by Vingegaard and shocked as I was it‘s turning out this way, I for one expected Roglic’s move today. It was make or break for him and the only thing he could do, TBH. Else he can just go home.

I didn’t think he would succeed, though. Now looking at Vingegaard’s face today and knowing how much effort he put in previous days, I’m not that sure he’s got this in the bag anymore.

And btw, to all the spin doctors out there - this was Roglic adapting and reacting to *** Vingegaard invented. He has no moral obligation anymore to follow any kind of rules. Dog eat dog it is…

If there is a war within TJV then Rogla already lost because one minute is a lot of time. It would be fun to know when the battle spark was ignited. My guess is same as yours that yesterdays stage did not go according to team playbook because Vinge wanted to dedicate stage to his teammate (by beating other two teammates despite different plan).

Basically Jonas "toyed" with Rogla today by not taking the stage from him but still being up there next to him. Mind games.
He has also vastly outplayed Roglic in the press room. By saying he wants Kuss to win, he is either putting Roglic on a tight leash or he drives him straight into a PR nightmare. He is daring Roglic to attack again, who will go down as the scapegoat, while simultaneously putting Vingegaard in red.

But it was interesting that Kuss was leading Vinge back to Rogla.

I wonder how today's stage would pan out if Kuss would simply hold Vinge wheel.

It's rare they trash Jumbo, but today they really did! Especially Jonas. According to them Rogla has never attacked Kuss and can't get ahead in GC so it's fair. But Jonas had no business doing it.

Are you joking? Vingegaard's "I hope Kuss wins" was the most insincere unintentionally hilarious stuff we've heard all week.

I'm used to a certain part of the media having a Roglič derangement syndrome (which goes back quite a long way), but really, a lot of people are just a bit annoyed that Rog could hold his own on the Angliru & proved all the excuses yesterday ("Vingegaard gained a minute as a tribute to Nathan!", "Vingegaard is a lot stronger than Rog anyway so it's only fair!") started something which Rog wouldn't accept. Namely Vinge winning the Vuelta without a fight.

There's also a tendency from quite a few people to analyse Vingegaard's performance today based on his best performances (i.e. insofar as people are alluding he could have dropped Rog had he wanted). Notwithstanding the nature of the climb itself (somewhat similar to Monte Lussari in its final 5 km), there's also the fact Vingegaard was maybe just... at that level today. Like in the TdF on Le Markstein.

He lost it in the team car.

I think Rog was right to race because it is a race and he should try to win it. It's really not very complicated. It gets loopy when morality etc is mixed in. Would have loved to see Rog drop Vingo but here we are and such is life.

Btw, I think the Wire is more apt than Star Wars here. Jumbo are the Greek connection. Vingo is Marlo Stanfield. Rogla is Prop Joe. Kuss is a hopper that stumbled on a package and might-could somehow make it.

UCI and ASO are the 5-O when they momentarily allow Hamsterdam.

Unbeliavable. It's always jonas fault, no matter what 😂

Yeah, but what he says only works on those who are 6 or below. Like anyone believes anything he says anymore…

And saying he wants Kuss to win will do nothing else but confirm he is a hypocrite even further. Rogla is straight-forward about this and I bet that resonates with way more fans than Vingegaard’s pre-school level mind games.

I'm happy for Roglic for his Angliru stage win :wineglass: :wineglass:
Sadly, due to Team Politics, I believe he's been relegated to be on the podium but not to win it. See, Kuss is likely to faulter on stage 20th, while Vinge is likely to bring his "3rd week game" into display, which will make Roglic react to it, while both leave Kuss behind......

Like I said..... just sketchy conclusion of this Vuelta with a non-spoken inner battle among teammates....
