Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Let's not jump into conclusions, probably WVA wants to be WOUT in order to exit his domestique duties....but Rog with WVA at the Tour are a force to be reckon with.

I'd absolutely love for Wout van Aert to follow Rog to Bora. It would be amazing. And yes, I'm fully aware of the conversations about his personal ambitions (which I've often partaken in). But man... what a physical monster he is, not only at the TdF but all year long.

I don't believe it though, i.e. I just can't imagine Jumbo would let him go, not after losing Roglič. It would totally weaken them. He's also the 'other' symbol of Jumbo Visma (king), so losing Rog & Van Aert at the same time would be unthinkable.

Word is Red Bull wants Wout "at home".

Translation: Van Aert was munching on a waffle for breakfast a couple of days ago when he saw the headline "Roglič set for 6 million a year deal".

He had a epiphany at that moment, i.e. "GET ME THE F OUT OF HERE!"

Or something like that.

But seriously, the situation with Soudal & Visma seems highly fluid right now. I also can't imagine Van Aert & Evenepoel on the same team. It seems surreal (just as surreal as a WvA transfer tbh).

This is definitely one of the silliest silly seasons we've had though, so let's enjoy the ride.

It's (almost) official now. Does that mean Remco to Ineos?

He does look pretty German with his mustaches, he will fit right in.

This really is the most german looking Roglič I have ever seen on any photo.

A bit off topic maybe - but I checked about his high school education and he should have some 4 years of German in his school. I think he should be able to learn his usual phrases. "Wir gehen Tag fur Tag". "Warrum nicht, eh?"

If Fatco wants to be the best he has to learn from the best. Starvation camps with the Skeletor and domestique duties at the Tour will teach him more than anything. He will be unrecongnizable after those camps (only half of Fatco left).
I actually believe this is his best pathway to success if he truly wants a shot at winning the Tour. He is not going to go to Ineos next year and magically be a match for Vingo in 2024; not happening. Go study at the feet of the Jedi masters; sign a two year deal with JV, learn from the best. Learn how to get as lean as he needs to be without the accompanying energy deficit, work on his recovery with the people who are obviously the best in the business, ride domestique for Jonas at the Tour (with all the learning and potential opportunities should Jonas crash, whatever) sole leadership at the Vuelta, crush his favorite spring classics. He gets out of that he's still a relatively young rider but immensely stronger and more knowledgable, and now he's ready for a real shot. I truly believe any clinic issues aside this would be his best path to Tour success, if that's in the cards for him.

As far as clinic issues go, that is always going to be an issue at any major team I'd think, current cloud over Jumbo notwithstanding.

Tratnik not too happy with Rog's decision to leave the team, it looks like:

“For me [it changes] nothing, I still have a contract with Jumbo-Visma,” Tratnik told Eurosport before the start of the Tre Valli Varesine race in Italy.

“One side is friendship, and the other side is the business side. He decided like this, and if he’s happy then I’m also happy, but for me this doesn’t change anything.”

He didn't seem the least unhappy on video. Just making clear what his own contract situation is.
