It's about time (for me). But he probably thinks it's still too early to show all the cards.

I'm happy yesterday was another 'rest day' because this is the sort of profile I usually don't like. Lots of vertical ascent meters (over 4000), a long stage over 200km & a final 50km which goes up & down repeatedly on some steep gradients.

Fortunately it seems like the weather should be fine, so that's one less thing to worry about. There's likely going to be a big fight for the breakaway (which will mean a super fast start) & then if a GC team starts drilling it, some riders will feel the fatigue in their legs by the end.

What happens today will greatly impact how I view Rog's chances in the coming 10 stages tbh (i.e. if he manages today without time loss versus Pog & Vinge, I'll be very, very happy).

Roglic is now fighting for the podium = 3rd place.

Who cares.

Another year, another dose of misfortune. I'll let others run around posting their predictions for the coming 10 days, i.e. which seems to be all people really care about (is is betting culture or what?).

I don't know who's going to finish 1-2-3.

But I can 'guess' who's going to finish number 1 & that's the same guy who has won it 2 years in a row already. The rest... just doesn't matter to me.

Sad for Rog after all the work he did. I'm also sad his team disintegrated like that.

Team wouldn't have mattered. Jorgensen was nowhere to be found, and he also rode better than Almeida and Yates, so it wouldn't have mattered.

It's called crashing. I get what you mean though, i.e. he crashed himself so it's somehow not 'misfortune'.

I'll leave that one to the people who enjoy that sort of semantics when it suits a particular opinion.

No, Im not talking about the crash. Thats 20-30 seconds, who cares. If anything, he should feel lucky by what happened on Galibier and the gravel, because he did look better today and ready to fight for a podium.

This stage was tailormade for Roglic. He will bonk in stage 15.
I've heard it was tailor-made for Remco and Tadej.

Remco did really well after faltering on Puy Marie but Tadej also hard cracked himself. If Vingegaard decides to just sit on his wheel, they all arrive together.

Yes he is. I dno why Rackham is so doomsday about it, he looked better than most expected Im sure.

Narrow margins.

It was a real shame because he rode so well (as did Evenepoel). These little mini disasters are very annoying.

Fortunately it was a low speed crash so hopefully there's no real damage.
