Note that in road cycling such medals hold little to no value.
Hmmmmm

For me gold Ol medal is much much more valuable than world title. You can win world title every year, Ol is every 4 years. That fact alone ranks Ol higher. I will put gold medal in the same category as one tour win.

I know that right now the Ol medals are less valuable than even the monuments but i do think in the next few years the Ol race will become much more desired challenge

Just look how happy Djokovic was, when he finally won Ol tournament.

I think athletes at this level are extremely good at celebrating the wins they do get and focusing on future goals and not alternative scenarios.

So I don’t think Rogla would give up a gold medal that He earned and won on the day for a TdF title won on paper. His career isn’t over and he can still have some great wins up his sleeves, but he has good reason to be very proud of everything he achieved already.

But I also think in that in 2017 he would have picked the Tour over Olympic gold.

These "would x trade z for z" discussions are so utterly bewildering, it's ridiculous.

I mean how would it even work.

Things are what they are.

I haven't yet given up on Primoz winning the TdF. Clearly the stars would need to align, but eventually all that bad luck must turn around, eh. Another Vuelta would also be nice (and yes, the minor worth of the Vuelta compared to the other Grand Tours is clear to me, as it is to everyone. But still a Grand Tour)

The purpose of “would trade / wouldn’t trade” discussions is only one: to hint that Olympics (which Rogla won) are somehow more important all of a sudden than the Tour (which Rogla didn’t win). So if Roglic never wins the Tour (which seems ever more likely) he still achieved his most important goal, which is - you guessed it - the olympics. It’s a coping mechanism if I ever saw one.

Let's just say it's 100% likely and be done with it :) Unless Abi can conjure up some ciciban race he feels is more important than the tour just to stir the pot a little...

You should know everyone else knows you have zero things to say with posts like that. Not one slightest argument at all…
Noone says that? Roglic would do anything for a Tour win, and OL and far down the list even. like people need to stop making up stuff and this one takes the cake literally :tearsofjoy:

Read yesterday’s posts.
Ill think I pass if anyone actually said that:tearsofjoy: I think its sufficient like you said coping mechanism if that's the case

Everyone knows TdF > Olympics. And even there RR>TT
But you gotta live with the hand your dealt with. No "shoulda woulda"
Yes sir. I'm here hoping for Vuelta for Roglic and that he can get some consolation price to go out with the respect he deserves.
