If Pog and Vinge focus on the TdF next year, then the Giro is a no brainer. Go for it.

At this point in his career he needs the mental clarity and self-awareness... to basically clean up wherever he can.

I said before, during and after the Tour: winning stuff is better than losing stuff. So Vuelta > a TdF Podium, likewise another Giro win next year would be an amazing achievement.
Exactly this. Take another Giro and then, even if his destiny is to never reach the top step in the Tour, a palmares of 6 Grand Tour wins and a Monument plus Olympics TT would put him in the top 20 all time conversation.

Only two men won 7 GTs in this century. If Rogla manages to match this number it will be an amazing tally, equal to GT legends like Coppi, Indurain, Contador and Froome. It's still possible but also depends on Pogi's and Vingo's calendars.

A semi training block again today. Conditions not the best for Rogla and likely Remco was thinking if Pogi goes, nobody will help me bring him back so i will just go with Pogi and after initiated the attack on the very first climb out of four, reducing the bunch successfully, Pogi took on the offer and dropped the rest. Rogla chasing a wild goose from that far out made little to no sense, better to save the bullet for next Saturday and lets rather go all in over there. Reigning World and Olympic champion need some beating anyway, eating all that gummy bears, who better to do this job that someone that already was a World and an Olympic champion in his career.

Poor Rog. They said this was his race. But he was just borrowing it.

Actually it's crazy to think he beat Pogi on this finish just last year. The gap between them now seems so enormous.

Pog isn't even Rog's problem. He's going to be 35. He's had an amazing career (especially when you consider his origins in the sport). I mean.. chapeau Rog, really. 5 times GT winner & 88 career wins. Insane.

So no, Pog isn't his problem. Now for riders who're between 23 & 30... then yeah, Pog is a serious issue. He's everyone else's bogeyman. Aka The Baba Yaga of the peloton. Forget winning big races when Pog is on the startlist.

Yeah, obviously old man Roglic doesn't have to worry about competing with Pog anymore. It's a shame Pog insists on competing with him in races that he can realistically win, like Emilia.

You bring up a good point.

A few of Pogs competitors are either getting old or has suffered problems this season. Both when it comes to Roglic.

Except for the Tour with Vinge coming back to life from his injuries, Visma has had terrible luck all season.

Pog had problems last season etc but since gotten better.

The gaps and dominance is not surprising and quite logical, this year.

As for the age debate, remember guys, this used to be BS like Rogla crashes a lot and wheel sucks and things like that. Well, that didn't age well, did it.

First Il Lombardia then Rogla already said ToS next year will be the main goal, the rest is bonus. Things like Tour and Worlds should suit Rogla in the 2025 season. Although personally i don't know if i would rather see him win Tour Vuelta combo instead of focusing on the Worlds. But OK, all will be fine.
