Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Yeah if he loses the Tour to Pogacar he definitely lost it because of the first 4 days. Never know how much positioning issues caused underperformance today.

We'll have to see the ITT tomorrow.
He appeared to be on MvP's wheel or close at the middle of the last climb. That would suggest he worked to hard to get there or didn't have the last gasp. Either way it was time lost that'll be difficult to recover.

Between the pre race comments and reports about getting infected wounds at the Giro I'm not sure the expectations are too high. But last year he grew into the race a little bit, I think it would be pointless to show up if the team didn't believe that was the case.

Right now it seems that he doesn't have legs to challenge for the podium. If they don't expect the situation to improve as the Tour progresses, then it would be better to focus on chasing stages.
I don't want to see him racing for pointlesd top10 in gc with bad form and horrible team. I'd much rather see one last stomp in the Tour.

It's the ebb and flow of Rog in a GT.

It's joeover until it's not. I don't have a crystal ball but I'm not about to throw the baby out with the bathwater, i.e. this one could get worse (for real)... before it gets better.

But come on guys, we've all seen GT's before. Aka just because some guys are riding super fast and strong in these early punchy stages doesn't mean they'll be smashing Loze in a couple of weeks.

Notwithstanding the top two obviously who're in their own little universe.

It is still too early.

Now maybe after Hautacam everyone with a crystal ball can come in here and say "haha I told you he was washed!" but we're not there yet.

He's trained for climbing and his coach admitted he's had to sacrifice punchiness. Until we've seen the outcome of that, I'm on the fence. I also doubt Red Bull would be so protective of him if his climbing numbers were abysmal.

Always had a soft spot for Rogla, it's great to see the old timer still plugging away. As others have said, I just hope he can avoid crashing for once and avoid the mummy routine. Anything else is a bonus imo, perhaps he can grab a stage. And if something happens to the top contenders, who knows.

I assume positioning will be blamed again when he started the last climb in about 15th Position and finished 18th. That‘s just not gonna cut it.
At 6,0km to go, Narvaez started his pull at the base of the last climb.
Almeida was 14th and I believe Roglic was 17th at that point (but i'm not 100% sure), right behind Vauquelin.
Roglic just did not have the legs.
Lipowitz was already dropped even before the last climb. He was amazing in the Dauphiné, how is this happening 3 weeks later?

Something went terribly wrong with Redbull and Roglic's preparation in 2025.
