Btw, as was speculated some time ago, Rogla will race at MSR.
Van Dijke, Pellizzari, Roglic. All riders that should be able to get over the Cipressa in the 2nd group. Together with Visma, they might be able to reel Pogi/MVDP back in before Poggio

And yet, this doesn't surprise me, it's just journalism nowadays.

which is why i usually only ever trust verbatim quotes of riders

Not sure why Rog should get dropped on a 4% climb
I think it's an interesting question. It's a power climb, and ultimately that's why MVDP can keep up with Pog on it. Does Roglic generate enough pure power to stay with them?

Dumb personal comparison, but mountain biking I get dropped after some amount of time on 10%-15% + climbs by the smaller guys. Just carrying too much size to stay with them. But I generate probably 100+ watts more than them, and on shallow climbs I have to slow down not to drop the smaller guys, even just taking it relatively easy under threshold. Under 4% forget it, I have to ride at the back to keep the group together.

Where Roglic fits into that power/weight equation others will know better than I. But you need to be putting out a certain watt number to hang with those boys. That's why we see Ganna up there competing.

On Cipressa about 4W/kg should be going done against gravity, and being smaller he should benefit more from drafting, and while power output is probably slightly different at 4%, I'd still back Roglic to do higher W/kg for 9 minutes.

The difference I think is primarily made during the acceleration and then losing the wheel rather than not being able to follow in that phase, or getting positioned badly.

And I think the predicted headwind changes the calculus enormously

Because he isn’t explosive enough to follow, and then they are long gone, not to mention positioning.
Should be explosive enough to follow Ganna at least if he starts in that wheel. Ganna doesn't have a special uphill 10-15s burst at all

A part of me more feels like Roglic is going to help Pogacar more than go for the win or high placing himself. Whether that’s a half pull/lead out or letting the wheel go is to be decided.

Yeah, but to my way of thinking it's more watts than watts per kg on this climb. Just don't know if he has the pure wattage to stay with them. Could be, genuinely no idea. Whatever the case I can't imagine him losing more than a couple seconds, and should be in a group which can reel them back.

It appears that Rogla was trolling that Slovenian journalist.
At this rate I won't be surprised to see him in LBL as well.

It was already said at the team camp in December that officially only Tirreno, Itzulia, Romandie and Vuelta are on his schedule for now. If Roglič wants to race more, they will of course allow him to do so. And even then, there was talk of the Ardennes...
Or as Primož always says: "If you have good legs and you're in form, there are more than enough races you can do."
I think we're in for a few more surprises.

Is he willing to ride for Evenepoel in the Ardennes? Because that's still a different level in those type of races

As far as I know, Remco is not doing FW? As for LBL, why not going there with 2 or 3 leaders and then let the road decide. Just like in Tirreno.

That’s possible since UAE takes control anyway, but if for some reason Pogacar wouldn’t attend, then that’s not what Evenepoel needs. They need to make the race hard in that case which means everyone giving their all until he launches. Like LBL 2023, or any race Pogacar does

I'd be very surprised. Will Pogacar pay him back by setting up Tour de Suisse for him?
Roglic barely races MSR and is a dark horse at best with known distance and positioning issues. Nor was him partaking even talked about besides wishes by fans. Will he even ride TdS?

Yesterday, they filmed him while peeing and his penis was clearly shown (they even showed it again in slowmotion). Was that because of all the controversy during the Winter Olympics with ski jumpers and penis enlargement medication, making his an item of increased scrutiny?
does anyone have a link to this video? just wanted to find the correlation between the size and the power output
