Isn't C. Rodriguez leading Ineos at the Tour as guarantee of his contract extension? So does that take Ineos out of the question?

Whomever is paying Rog 6 million a year (if the reports are true) will make him leader in the TdF.

I think we just don't know where he's going yet because there was a negotiation with a few teams, so there are lots of false trails.

Honestly, Bora makes a lot of sense. It's a move of similar magnitude to when they signed Sagan and looking at their roster they have a superb supporting cast. My guess is, they were hoping some of their gc leaders could take the next step this year but as they did not, signing a big name like Roglic is the only reasonable way to make use of their current squad.

I wonder if that 6 million is buyout money included? I.e. 18 million total net cost for the team getting Roglic and not what Roglic himself would get.

Can't wait to see Vlasov and one of his boys attack Roglic in The Tour to try and secure a big 7th place.

6 million though, fair play, got that Froome **** you money

Why? I'd like to see Roglic winning the Tour. I don't see him doing that being up on his own against UAE and Jumbo/Soudal/Amazon/whatever.
The point is that there is an overall feeling that after a team winning 3 GTs the peloton is unbalanced. Had he not left Jumbo, Rogla in the Tour would be blocked and it would make things much more predictable. Jumbo are at loss here but it's a fair loss.

He wouldn't have been blocked. The Vuelta is not the Tour, there you don't fill the podium and get to decide who wins.

So, Bora and Ineos do indeed make the most sense. Both have formidable teams to support Roglic, good setup etc. The next best teams outside of UAE and Jumbo basically.

Now, lets wait for a curveball and him signing for Movistar or Jayco.

Yeah fans complain over JBV dominance and then we have this absolute legendary rider going away from them and all people do is....to complain. Roglic is balancing the peloton just by his own mindset. Get a grip people.
I'm a cycling fan and thinks this i excellent  In the Vuelta I predicted he needed to go somewhere else, if he wanted another shot on the TDF and now we can looke forward to an interesting race. Vingegaard, Roglic, Evenepoel, Ayouso, Pogacar etc...... hopefully a lot of riders, who are willing to attack and crack the others. Fingers crossed, that he have signed with a team who can support him well.

Ineos makes more sense than Bora, but maybe they will back C. Rodriguez.

Bora is a little bit all over the place. I dont think Vlasov, Hindley, Higuita etc would be the best doms. Not really Martinez either. They are all on the same level. Nobody really stands out from that lot and they all good enough to win races. Uijtebroeks is/should be the future of that team. It is a bit crowded there now and even though Roglic is Roglic... I dont think it would be the best fit.

Roglic to Movistar, Jayco or Bahrain would make more sense for me than Bora. Then again Movistar has Mas and Jayco has S. Yates.

The more I think about it... Bahrain makes the most sense. Especially with Landa leaving. They have experienced support with Poels, Bilbao, Haig and Caruso. Buitrago there as well. Young Tiberi. Fellow countrymen Mohoric and Grovekar is there. To me they are the best fit and he would be undisputed leader.

Sad that he's leaving. Bora seems like the best hope? FU money would be nice for him.

My personal meme option is UAE

I've never seen Bahrain ride as a team. They show up with 3-4 super doms and you never know which one of them will lead the team to 8th.

Roglic would be the obvious leader but I'm not sure if they have it in their DNA to really get organized into a race controlling force.

Congrats on today, he was the strongest at the very end. And it's only the 1st of 3 Italian races with the Slovenian rivalry.
Only moments ago I found out that Rogla is actually leaving JV o_O Well, the next year's Tour is shaping to be epic!
