But Hindley & Kämna are going to be Rog's new BFF's, so I don't see the point.

Daniel Friebe has been right about everything in this saga so far, so I'll just have to take his word for it.

I'm still super happy with Bora. I think it's the most 'Jumbo' of other teams & without going to a Sheikh's plaything, a crappy retirement home (there are a few), a seriously lower tier team or Ineos (which seems like a neglected child these days anyway).

And we get to see Rog on some Specialized ITT gear. It could be fun.

That's true about Bora. This has been known in Slovenia for some time and now I'm not really surprised that Primož chose them.

Or he's not happy with those questions as he got a job in the team because of his big brother and not his own hard work. Expectations by anyone to follow Primož while he's still under the contract must be quite annoying.

He's come a long way since you created this thread, i.e. what a journey! Now onto the next chapter. I'm very happy for him to get paid what he's due as well as per the market value for a cyclist of his calibre. Jumbo's wages were originally intended to create team spirit (no super high earners) & allow for funds to go towards hiring better support riders. But in the end they were just cheap.

I bet Vinge, WvA & a few others will be interested in a little re-evaluation of their earnings as well. A team can't go around calling itself a 'super team' whilst lowballing their own rider wages forever.

Bora Hansgrohe still wants to win the individual final GC of the TdF with one of their riders, and Primoz lacks wins of GCs of TdS and TdF. So that would fit.

I think Ralph Denk and Rolf Aldag would get on very well with Primoz. Specialized would deliver a great bike. Vlasov, Hindley and Kämna would be perfect co-captains and luxury domestiques. Palzer could become a very close friend (similar past as skier/runner before cycling).

I like this Bora deal. Shows that Primoz has a great mentality.

I think with joining Ineos, he would have signed a 100% guarantee to win next year’s Tour. With joining Bora, he has a 99% guarantee. Primoz likes challenges, and IMHO will win next year’s Tour.

I think Primoz will win next TdF just like Kuss won Vuelta:

2023 Vuelta: Primoz and Vinge protect Kuss to win final GC;
2024 TdF: Vinge and Pog (already TdF winners) will protect Rog (from a different team) to win final GC.

To get some closure in regards to this historical era of Primož Roglič and Jumbo Visma. As after there will be no more. Some new era will begin to be written. OK so Rogla to Ineos. Sleeping giant Rogla would need to awaken. Hard task to do, still Rogla has a decade of experience and a good track record with that. The question is on how serious is the other side.

Rogla to Bora. A risk, especially due to moving away from arguably the best team in the peloton, still Bora is a team that has good foundations. It's just missing that something extra. I mean Bora already has an A team to support a rider like Rogla at the Tour. You don't get to there without some serious know how.

Remco to Ineos. Likely that would indicate Remco would go to Ineos in any case. Merger being the consequence. Is Remco the type of rider to turn Ineos around at this point? Likely too young for that. Direct expectation to win the Tour would likely do more harm then good.

Remco to merged team. Would likely make sense for both Remco and the team. Remco could progress further in an environment that seem to know on how to tackle this. The team would likely not sustain a big hit in loss of wins. Due to Rogla leaving. Tour likely reserved for Jonas in foreseeable future. Winning other GT's could become more easy, or not. That is Remco would need to do it with a B team.

Rogla at this point must focus on winning the Tour while Remco technically doesn't need to worry just about that. So for Rogla leadership at the Tour and A team support is at this point much more important, then for Remco. If the idea is for Remco to go to merged team and to force Tour leadership, by pushing Jonas back, then likely the merged team will pay a price for it.

We'll see.

He was the original reason for Van Aert to even go to Jumbo. On a personal level he won't like that his trainer is leaving, but on the other hand: if anyone could use a change of approach, and a change of how he prepares for the big races, it's Van Aert.

For Roglic it's good news of course.

So, it's speculated that the compensation will be around 3 millions. That is not exactly in line with what was said by JV. For Rogla getting a green light, to freely move on. But OK, that shows some serious commitment from the new team and i like that.
