Lol, while your statement is true, it's been also true since his first win in 2014 till the last stage of this year's Tour, for a period of 10 years. So it's not like it is a surprising achievement.

Before this season I actually thought he'd reach 100 wins before Pogačar. But after his two crashes in Itzulia and the Tour, and especially after Pogi's dominant performances in both GTs, I don't believe that anymore. Although I still believe he'll go over 100 in number of pro wins.

Watch now Rogla win 7 stages of La Vuelta.

I know, I also wrote about Pogacar when he won the Tour that he now had as many wins as Roglic.

I saw a potential for a lot of likes but I was caught out sooner than I had hoped ;)

ineos now ordering 40 of these. everything for marginal gains.

If he misses the Vuelta, hopefully that doesn't mean that the severity of his injuries and advancing age have him on a path to Froome-like degeneration. Hate seeing a champ like Roglic miss the chance to go out on top and then struggle to ever get back to GC-winning form.
Very, very happy to see that my fears were unfounded. Great to see PR's resilience and fortitude manifest yesterday.

I asked it in the main thread, what was supposed to happen today? It was shallow before the extreme wall that everyone agrees rarely produces gaps. If you did get a 10-15 second gap at the end of that wall you were going to be brought back on that false flat after by 3-5 riders. On top it was stage 4.
Greedy

I think he looked really relaxed at the steep parts. He looked more in pain at the Dauphine and at the Tour when going fast. Perhaps he even safed something yesterday. Even Roglic is feeling the stress and pressure at the Tour and the preperation for it. I think Vuelta is his comfort zone.
Tbh knowing you would have to produce times Pantani would be dropped by two minutes would stress any mere mortal

It’s just not his style to go all in unnecessarily, especially not on stage 4. He looked like he could have made a difference at least to everyone but Mas but he’s experienced enough to know he’s gonna need those legs later on. Unfortunately, he’s no superman like Pog and has to distribute his efforts accordingly…

That being said, it’s actually quite an early display of power for his standards. Either RBH wants some publicity or he’s very strong this time.

I think he's very strong. He had good form in the Tour before his DNF & now he gets to fire those bullets he would have used up fighting with Evenepoel in July.

Having the leader jersey also makes tactical sense in the bunch because he gets to ride at the front for most of the day (like today in what was a tricky finale through Seville) RBH clearly believe they can protect it as well.

Today’s approach is how it should always be. The entire team needs to make an effort to stay in front in nervous parts of the race even at the possible expense of being able to offer him less support in the mountains if need be. I think it’s clear his enemy number one is crashes - other than that, he can take care of himself.

They shouldn’t at any time be inviting bad luck because with Roglic, it always comes…

I read some riders were stating that they lost some time on stage 4 due to deyhidration and not because of worse form. Is it possible that Roglič just handles the heat that much better than others? Red bull bora even has black shirts which i would guess are even hotter..

I don't think Roglič has any special track record for being extra good in heat. He does have a track record being bad in cold though.

Apparently the latest jersey tech is able to reflect the sun no matter what color is used.
