“It seems that little Belgium is coming to our team, considering who is already with us and who will be there. To be honest, I don't know any of these people. I know Remco by name, but otherwise we haven't had much contact yet.”

At first I thought this was a typo and he was saying “that little Belgian,” and thought surely this was a satire, but then I realized he was saying the team was becoming Little Belgium with the number of people he was bringing I think. “I know Remco by name” was an interesting comment, though. I guess some of us were a little quick to imagine a budding bromance after Roglic gave him a pat on the back. Turns out he was saying, “Remco, right?”

Don't take every word so serious, some things also got lost in translation. No, he definitely didn't say that little Belgian, more in sense that he'll bring half of Belgium with him. He speaks very respectfully of Remco though.

What I would give to have a Roglic victory tomorrow! I don't think it will happen, but he is in a really unique position in that he has a "teammate" in Tadej and a future teammate in Remco as the 2 top contenders. I hope he rides this intelligently and somehow makes it work in his favor!

I hope he’s enjoying the experience. Is he still in the race? Started watching a bit late and wouldn’t have known he was in the race if I hadn’t seen the pre-race photos….
He's in the "main" group currently 5 minutes back riding for 7th through 17th or thereabouts

11th. On the wheel of Pidcock who got 10th.

Honestly? Not too bad considering the distance.
Pretty much.

Knowing he was coming from altitude and many others weren't as well prepared migh make you hope that he could do more, but on a parcours this hard and attritional that always felt unrealistic.

If it was a 4000m desnivel route I might have hoped for more.

This is a good showing, and so maybe there's good results to be had in the Italian classics.

A decent performance. In his prime, he would have been fighting for the top five in a race like this instead of the top 10, but no more. He also arrived after months without competing only on Friday.

Based on what I've seen from him (up to the 200km mark), I think he can fight for the win in Emilia and for a top-five podium finish in Lombardy. It's a shame he can't compete in the European Championship because I think, given the distance and type of climbs, he could do much better than he did today, but it makes more sense to fight for a win in Emilia than a top-five finish behind Pogi there.
