Noooooooo! Heras is the guy I've been waiting for. I was sure Heras would fall to late 2nd round. I rate him really highly personally, think I listed him as a top 5 all time climber.

It's all about the 2000 Heras though. To do L'Angliru over 1 min faster than anyone else has ever managed is insane.

Surprised by that pick. I guess it works if you're not trying to win the overall classification.

And hey, half the fun of this is speaking in code to refer to undrafted riders! :p

Only one team can win the overall, and without Riis, Pantani, Ullrich or Indurain that will be very difficult, so my aim will be to wreck havoc and spread chaos! :)

I also had Heras as one to pick in 2nd round. I guess the squirrel from Vejle will do.

This was a hard decision but I have picked Tyler Hamilton as co-leader with Heras for my team. There are more obvious riders from different countries who has done insane things in the mountains after him but mostly lacked focus or stability to challenge for three week races. Any of these choices, except maybe one, would also be mostly about potential. So Heras there to attack, Hamilton to be conservative.

One of my greatest moments ever in cycling is Alpe d'Huez in the 2003 TDF when he stayed with Armstrong on the Alpe d'Huez with fractured clavicular. Manuel Beltran had hammered the first part extremely hard, then Jose Luis Rubiera took over and because of the chaos it was only after almost one kilometre it was clear that Hamilton was still there behind some US Postals and maybe two or three others, shirt all open and bandages and sling round his shoulder. He couldnt match the leaders all the way but it was one of Armstrong's weaker years so it's likely Hamilton would have been very close to him if not for the crash.

Oh yeah I didn't want any of those alluded to above, I think hrotha means a guy just referred to on the last page and that Tonton means a cyclist with a highpitched voice and his friend also with a highpitched voice.

Guess I'm all about the team competition + I only want cyclists I actually like.

Re:

Well, well, well...my favorite will have to wait.

With the 12th pick overall (2nd of the 2nd round), team "La Vie Pas Claire" picks Chris Froome (the 2013 TdF version).

At the '13 TdF, he so crushed the opposition that it provoked a general outcry in the media. Towards the end, he took some time off: otherwise, he could have won by 15 minutes. The ridiculousness of his performance is highlighted in many posts and threads in CN.

I couldn't let Dawg slip by.

Steal of the draft. Would have picked Dawg after Basso though there is probably no doubt that Berzin '94 had more watt and watt/kg.

I had dawg as the best bio-passport era pick and something like 5th overall.

Maybe I overrate him but imo his TT isn't much worse than Lance and the climbing as well is almost as good.

Also, what happened to posting pictures and making a case for the rider that is being picked?

Sorry for the lack of picture, Serious Sam. I wanted to speed up this draft, and never expected Dawg to land on my lap.

On the "making the case" side, what is there to say that hasn't been posted ad nauseam on his (or Sky's) thread, really?

I know who I will pick and I doubt Zam will take him, but I guess I have to come up with another one just in case :/

If you're not gonna be around you can PM me the pick and I'll post it.
