what a day. Brazil v Portugal - hopefully Brazil will be motivated rather than go for a draw or a loss (would give them easier draw).

The only shame is that brazil v portugal is first would have been better last. Oh well.

Man, that was brutal. 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I guess Portugal are betting that Spain won't top their group.

And Hitch, I've always supported Portugal (except when they play the Netherlands). Firstly because I spent much of my youth in Geneva, a city with a lot of Portuguese extraction, and about half the guys I used to play football on my team with were Portuguese, and so I guess the love of Portuguese football rubbed off on me. And secondly the love of my life, my soulmate, my [insert additional cliche here] and the woman I will end up marrying also is from Portugal... So a few personal connections, as they say

Portugal maybe. But after that its paraguay in qf and then uruguay/ ghana/ US in the semis

then in the final all those other favourites who have been tiring injuring and suspending eachother out.

A WC victory with a fraction of the difficulty of their relatively simple Euro 2008 win. Its very possible

Hopefully things wont go in Spains favour all the time but i have my doubts. Considering the draw they now have they are more likely to win the wc than the tdf.
