I've missed the red card to Estrada. Whas it deserved?

2 yellows. Second was a trip off the ball. Harsh but ive seen them given.

If only that f***ing goalkeeper had a brain none of this would have happened.

As it is Switzerland very dissapointing and Spain despite grossly underperforming, have as good a route to the final as any team has ever had in the history of the world cup.
I now really hope that christiano ronaldo and co dive their way through to the quarters.

Man... I hope Switzerland don't score. It would be a real shame if Chile don't make it through. Although with two starters missing already (and this ref ain't finished yet) I doubt they'd prove a match Brasil... :(

That said if the Swiss do win Chile would only have themselves to blame. They could've won both their first games by 3 goal margins easy if they'd been more clinical

True. But the goalkeeper is part of the team so if he does something stupid, the whole team pays.
And Fifas response to bad referee decisions is, “you should have thought about that before we chose a referee who makes unfair decisions for your match”.

In conclusion. Theyve played very well, but under these terms they deserve to go out.

Is anyone following the Swiss game? Do they look close to scoring?

I switched over due to the horror of what i was seeing in the Spain game. Unfortunately the boredom of the Swiss game proved to be even more powerful, so i had to switch back and then turn off my tv.

One of the few predictions i have had right is that Switzerland would struggle to score goals cos they dont have any class up front.

SO no they dont look like scoring.

I havent been watching so could someone tell me how Chille scored and how they have been playing in the 2nd half?

THis goal for chille means they will probably sit back as its becoming more clear that Switzerland wont score.

It was shot from the front of the box that changed trajectory after touching in Piqué's leg. Casillas could only watch it.

I didnt know it was possible with the games on display but this has been an etremely boring day.

The major hope, which couldnt possibly disapoint - Spain vs Chille actually managed to be extremely disapointing thanks to that ref.
all the other matches very very boring.

If Spain plays as bad as today there won't be much to see. I guess something like USA-Ghana will be more interesting to watch

Well portugal arent doing that well and my worry is that spain have had their bad patch, and it has cost them nothing. Besides like i said, a win, no matter how its earned opens up the door to paraguay as their quarter and u r gay as their semi.
the easiest route to the cup since brazil only had to draw in the final to win at home. thankfully the opponents then were uruguay and they lost so there is hope yet.

All sources I've checked say that Spain will meet in the semifinal one of Argentina, Mexico, England, Germany.

Ah yes you are right. I just got neurologicaly mixed up. I was so certain that England and Spain would win their groups that i had them in opposite sides of the draw all this time. But england didnt win. so their on route to meet eachother. Unless argentina continue to play like they are.

Thanks for that.

I really did wish the ref was able to blow for full-time at least five minutes early, because that the last 10 minutes was akin to watching paint dry. It reminded me of a Simpsons quote:

Kent Brockman: [bored] Halfback passes to the center. Back to the wing. Back to the center. Center holds it. Holds it.
[sighs]
Kent Brockman: Holds it.
Foreign-accented sports commentator: [excited] Halfback passes to center, back to wing, back to center, center holds it! Holds it! Holds It!

Where can we find France in the map?Is it in Africa as some people may think?Look at their line up,most are black.(there is nothing wrong if this people were the best in France though)

I think France is paying the price of putting many Black/Africans in their team. Many French were against it .I think they are following the US model wherein African American are present in most sports.

btw,i think Spain will finally win this time!

Most of their black frenchmen are french. But a few- Marcel Desali, Kakuta and some others, were born in africa with no french in them whatsoever, until the french football scouts in those countries decided to take them to france and make them french.
