the koreans are capable of pretty fun and watchable football, I think? Greece, on the other hand, if they still play like 2004, is the least likable team ever.

Not in 2002... But that was under Hiddink, who is always willing to kill a game in order to get a result. Maybe they're different now, but somehow I doubt it.

I like the World Cup. It reminds me of....well, football at its most exciting. Other people seem to like the World Cup because it reminds them of something else

Must be the heat.
Soccer at it's best with two draws!

again i will point out the stupidity of this comment, as i have said earlier, coming from Australia i understand the general perception of cycling.... "boring... lame.. etc etc" so can't understand why you would criticize another sport. you're a tool, who seriously has the intelligent of a 2 year old :) if you don't like the sport, no need to comment.

Anywhu don't read too much into friendlies.

And yeah that is what the media does. They create ideas and fantasies. What do you want them to write; THE AUSSIES SUCK A$S AND WONT WIN A GAME! - get real.

----
woot 8 hours to go :p

looking forward to the urguay v france match.

agreed in the hope we get a fair and beautiful world cup.

Timmy, I understand people don't like soccer but the general perception in Aus is that Soccer is boring. I will comment all I like Timmy. I would just like to understand why people like this sport. Cycling is FAR more exciting than this sport.

Maybe I shouldn't read too much into friendlies but too lose to USA doesn't seem good for the aussies. Anyway I will be off to the AFL to watch a quality game of football.

I complained about the media as they always paint hte opposition as the bad guys and we are the innocent aussie battler who will come from behind and win. The media act like we are going to win the world cup when really australians just don't really care about soccer. Have you noticed the amount of the crowds going to our soccer? Most of the teams are going broke because of lack of crowds.

Timmy I can have an opinion and i don't need you to shoot me down just because I have one about another sport. That is what a forum is about so that makes you the one with the intelligence of two year old.

I don't care (and I don't think Tim doesn't either) whether or not you like soccer, but I do find it odd you would be posting in a thread that you have no interest in, and if you choose to post and make a post somebody disagrees with, they're going to call you out on it.

That's a better attitude than the millions of people who are all of a sudden "interested". A bit like those people who follow cycling in July, or are tennis experts for two weeks in January.

Still don't see why you have to post it though - what teams are going broke? NQF was guaranteed to fail and its only purpose was to try and turn Townsville into a World Cup venue.

yeah this is pretty much my thoughts with him. He basically posted to get reactions, or get some attention. I dunno.. he needs to grow up.

very unnecessary posts. (and lol, anyone who watches soccer will agree the 1st game was very entertaining despite the 'draw')

I really cant be bothered with his idiotic antics. :)

anywho poor second game. France for all their quality play bad, and uncreative.
Only times they looked mildly dangerous was when gourcoff decided to unleash a shot at the corner pole or roof... or (more seriously..) when they played the ball in the box.

They are losing money was probably the better term. Also, look at the crowds how much they are gradually going down. ONLY 2 teams average over 10000 people to a game. At a LOCAL A grade AFL match they get more than that every week. I don't get your point in the top of your post.

In my original post i was asking about what the germans were actually saying to the australians about the soccer. It's a forum so I can post about things wherever on whatever I like. Yes but timmy was saying I had an intelligence of a two year which is more just having a go at someone. I can make an opinion and will not stop doing it.

Anyhow, if timmy does not like my posts he does not have to get his knickers in a knot about it. Remember timmy, IT IS ONLY A FORUM!

Timmy if you have a problem with my posts I would be more than happy to discuss it.

You don't understand.
I have no problem with you hating soccer, or posting it. Go right ahead, it doesn't change my feelings on soccer.. I love it :D :D

I just don't see the point of your posts, and feel that your maturity level is very very low.

you already posted your feelings about soccer earlier in the thread. If you don't like the sport; fine, we get it.
But you have now posted the same thing multiple times on different occasions in this one thread.. why? Do you crave attention that much? It's sad.

You have had your opinion regarding soccer -- and we get it.. seriously no need to post the same thing over and over again -- now let us discuss the sport we also love.
I cannot stand rugby, but I know I certainly wouldn't be going into a rugby thread and making negative comments or trying to flame. Whats the point? Are you that insecure?

My knickers are not in a knot, I am simply replying to your posts. I don't get upset over the internet, I like debates and arguing, but I don't get upset.

Timmy if you have a problem with my posts I would be more than happy to discuss it.

no need to discuss, basically I think you post garbage. end of topic :)

Same to you about the final comment. Bit of a hipocrit tbh. Your pretty insecure as you keep on replying to my bait which i put out. That more likely says you have the very low maturity level. Pretty hilarious as others have PM'd me about you and encouraged my baiting of you. T

If I post about soccer and learn to enjoy soccer will you let me back in to join the talk.

P.S. Will you be at Geelong Worlds in September? I hope to see you there.

Of course you can, and I'm not stopping you from doing anything, just I'm surprised to see you in a thread that is of no interest to you. But hey if you become converted (for want of a better word), then hey that is no issue either :)

It is sport so I will always follow my fellow country men. i don't like the sport but recognise how big it is. I am not sure now if i will get up and watch it due to Tomolaris being on there but I am a bit other the beat up in the media about it.

Like I said, I like arguing and debating :)

obviously you can, support the aussies, I hope they do well. Just dunno why you'd wanna waste your time posting negative about soccer.

and lol :D you blaxland and co can PM about me all you want, hope it makes you feel like a big man ;)
PS: no offense. but if you come on forums just to bait people and look like a troll, then i don't really see the point. to each their own.

Ahhh... how different these forums would be if everyone took this advice!

Anyway.... +1 to this thread being about the World Cup and not about your opinion of whether soccer is boring.

Looking forward to England v US and Argentina v Nigeria.........

I'm no huge Argentina fan, but I'm intrigued as to what will come of Maradona's circus that is the current version of the albiceleste. Yes, they have the best player on earth right now, but the team itself is riddled with many questions, starting from the coach, 'keeper, some of the defense, a few parts of midfield. The team would have been better with the brooding genius that is Riquelme, but instead Maradona had to charge a few thousand volts into Veron to revive his dormant International career.

Last world cup after the group stage concluded Argentina arguably looked like the best team. I'm uncertain if they will reach the same lofty heights in South Africa. They should beat Nigeria today though.

Well, a goal for SK. Greek defense went AWOL there. This should be good for what could've otherwise a dreadfull game.

Dude, no one gives a toss about what you think of football. It's a beautiful sport, most of us Europeans have grown up watching and playing football, and really if all of Australia would invade the internet saying how boring it is, still no one would care.
